Yes kellycat that is something i need to do for nite time is get some nic free juice. I think though i am going to get my feet wet in some DIY fro making that. And get some knowledge and good mixing practices before thinkin gof playing with a bottle that can kill me lol. But i also agree with you i think i needed that nic punch to get off the cigs. Then after that is pretty much when i started looking for lower lvl juices.

Zero-nic is a great way to get into DIY, as 99% of the safety requirements are just best-practices and not 'do it wrong and you die' since there's no nicotine involved. Once you start working with nic, having those practices ingrained into your mind will keep you from having accidents like vaping straight 60mg nic base (guilty here, I don't suggest trying it), etc. And DIY nic-free is fairly easy too, I know I have a far easier time with my nic-free stuff as I'm more apt to just get measurements 'close' since there's no hazardous chemicals in it, so it's not like a tenth of a milliliter in a small batch is going to make your nic strength way higher than it should be.

Of course when you're working with 60-100mg base for 'real' juices, then you need to pay attention and measure down to the exact right amount, or you might get a nasty surprise when you take a hit.. In no way am I advocating DIY for the inexperienced, but I do believe starting with zero-nic DIY is going to be a very safe and helpful route. Once you get a flavor you like, buy nic in a PG/VG base and replace X milliliters of that non-nic base with the nicotine, done, recipe never changes.

wow 60mg straight out. bet that hurt. but I want to diy I like to tinker. already looking at stabbing at my own first mod and some other things I have on my mind.

If you've got soldering experience, check out the Puck mod, just google it and you should have the first hit be the main site with a few guides and diagrams for various types of 510/901-based mods. I've built a few and they're very handy for travel as you can power them from commercially-available AA/AAA cells in a pinch, though rechargeables are far better voltage-wise for them.

As far as the straight 60mg incident, it actually didn't do much beyond give me a headrush and make me cough, of course at the time I was vaping 30mg juices all day..nowadays I tried an 18mg juice I had in the drawer and it blew my head off, heart racing, thought I was going to collapse on the floor. My ADV is 6mg or lower, with 12mg in the morning to wake up to.

For the original post:

Sounds like great side effects to me!

Seriously tho, I dont mean to make light of your worries, but it sounds like you are just healthier! I wish I knew your age. Sounds like you are under 30, bc I didnt have the energy boost (@34) when I quit, and I still use tons of coffee. :)
You have a great sense of self awareness. Most ppl dont notice the small things like dry mouth, but we all get it. Most of us aren't getting enough water, so I really cant fault vaping for dry mouth. Vaping just makes it more apparent IMO.

I felt sick after switching to a mostly vape routine. Sick isnt the right word. I had heavy lungs, and felt like I was always breathing cool air after getting out of the shower. My lungs had to get used to the extra moisture! That all went away after 2 weeks! I'm 120% more healthy now after I quit the stinkies.

If you have trouble sleeping, or winding down at night, try a low nic juice. It helped me. :)

Best of luck to you, and everyone here. :2cool:

My worry when I decided to quit was weight gain. It has been 6 weeks and no gain so far--yay! I do still drink my coffee in the mornings but rarely drink coffee in the afternoon anymore. That could be just because it has been so hot. I think the flavors of the juices have satisfied food cravings as I don't eat as many snacks as I did when I was smoking.

I have found that I am drinking more water as I seem very dry most of the time.

I started out on 24mg and have just ordered some 18mg to try to step down the nicotine a little. There have been a few occasions where I get a little shaky if I haven't eaten much, so cutting back should help with that. I was not a two pack a day smoker--about a pack a day, but I wanted the highest level of nicotine so I would not pick up the cigs. It has worked.

between here and there
Hi everyone.
I must admit, after reading all of the posts in this thread, ya all have me a bit worried. fluid intake is nothing to be taken lightly. Dehydration is a very serious matter. Your muscles can cramp up(heart included) if your body doesn't have enough liquid to accommodate vaping. You see, that is where the 'smoke' for the ecigs comes from---the water in your mouth, nose, throat, etc. Liquid intake doesn't have to be water. It can be juices, sodas, teas, coffee, etc. If any of you experience just a little muscle soreness then please drink more of whatever it is you desire. After all, we are striving for better health too as well as beating the stinkies.

Ok rant off....please resume normal programming.......:)

I don't need to vape first thing in the morning like I did with a cigarette. My caffeine and sugar habits are pretty much the same although my sweet tooth/eating junk has decreased. I think it's the peanut butter flavors that I love.

Biggest change is that I chain vape and never chained smoked unless drunk. I also vape in my house so I no longer have to get up and go outside. Probably the reason for the chain vaping......hold on, let me get a vape in, lol.

I still drink 5-6 cups of coffee a day. Gee I even vape coffee flavors. I found myself drinking less water the when I smoked analogs.

I feel less dehydrated as a Vaper than I used to when I smoked analogues. I don't Vape more than 1-2 ml a day; and I only used smoke about 15 thin RYO's. But I used to get a dry mouth & sore throat often as a smoker.... thus I was always carrying a water bottle with me where ever I went for fear of coughing or choking/dry throat sensation. And I made sure every day I took vitamin C & B... to combat colds.

Thanks for this thread. As, now that I think about it, I don't feel thirsty as often. My mouth & throat is rarely dry. I never have a sore throat. I never cough anymore... it's amazing. And as for caffeine, I must say I love my tea. My twin sister & I call our selves "cuppa-holics"- LoL. Nah, it's not too bad- about 5-7 cups of tea a day on average. I've never drank coffee, but interestingly I love the coffee e-liquid flavor...?

To OP: I don't think you have anything to worry. Your reactions to Vaping seem good to me, especially re: replacing sugary drinks with water & cutting down on caffeine. Just keep an eye on your nicotine level- if you're worried

Interestingly, I read here on ECF that the higher the level of nicotine- the more relaxed one feels & the lower level the nicotine, the more stimulated one feels. Can anyone add to this analysis of nicotine... as it makes sense to me in a round about sort of way. I Vape mostly 24 mg, but less than 1-2 ml a day. I want go to 18mg (which I have tried, but I like 24mg for some reason).

My 24mg 1-2 ml per day Vaping usage, gives me absolutely no negative side effects whatsoever... which amazes me; though I am not a heavy Vaper & have only been Vaping for 1 day shy of 3 weeks- (yeah!) I hope to go down in nicotine strength, to 18mg or less- but I don't want to Vape mow.

I must start a new thread re: whether there is a correlation between nicotine strength & Vaping usage...?

To OP: Isn't it marvelous to be smoke free... all the best & Happy Vaping :)
