FIrst rule of used tissues is, we don't talk about used tissues.
That is great - good for both of you! I actually was amazed because I automatically cut from a pack a day habit to about 3 a day using the e-cig with no effort on my part, but after two weeks, I found I was forcing myself to smoke, I actually enjoyed the e-cig more! So I gave away the couple of packs I still left and haven't turned back.
Sounds like you both are off to a great start! Welcome!![]()
Something I'm noticing is how hard the conditioning is to break. Lots of the small things about cigarettes just... stick.
For instance, last night before bed, I had an urge to reach for the cigarette roller and roll that last cigarette before bedtime. This has been happening every night for the past week.
The rolling machine used to make this "clap" sound that was very recognizable. Sometimes, when Rich and I are in different parts of the house, I hear that sound and have to consciously tell myself that Rich is *not* rolling cigarettes.
And I sort of miss those little seven-minute chunks of time I call "the cigarette minute". I'm so used to thinking of things in terms of cigarette minutes that I still have moments where I think "I'm gonna start getting dinner together as soon as I'm done with this cigarette". I can't use the cigarette as a timer either - I used to allot myself little breaks in doing housework based on the length of a cigarette. Now I don't know how long to break for anymore!
This is why cigs are so hard to quit - the routine permeates our lives and even has an effect on how we approach and think about things. Do I have time for a cig before work? One last cig and then it's bedtime. Do I have enough cigs to last till whenever? Learning NOT to think about such things is a real hurdle, and I suspect is a big part of why so many go back after trying to quit.
Hey guys...
Just wanted to let you know that today is my one-year anniversary of vaping!
That's right, I've been off the cigarettes for one year! I never thought I'd see myself one year off cigs, and loving it! Breathing well feels great!
The only downside is the fact that I can smell smokers at fifty paces now... and they don't smell nice.
Thank you ECF, and V4L, for making this possible. I don't think I would have had much success if I had started out with the Blu that put me on this journey in the first place. Good luck to all you newbies, I hope you all can work it like we did, you'll feel great for doing it!!

Congrats Stephra... one year is a huge accomplishment!
I still have some of my ashtrays, the two on my desk now hold used carts and carts that are in progress.
