One week in to vaping and I already want an upgrade

Howdy fellow vapers, noob Texan here 20 years of smoking under my belt. Recently.. well within the last 4 years I was a 2 pack a day guy and obviously I noticed the deteriorating health of my lungs. I let my brother talk me into getting a setup he said worked for him without really researching what was available first. So I got the V2 Starter kit and their vapormax clearomizers, and ordered some 36mg/ml menthol juice from American eliquid. Which is awful tasting..
K02a-Bleu-battery__36709_zoom.jpg this is the setup I got

I've made it an entire week without an analog but I'm not having an easy time, and have already decided I need an upgrade.

Since Monday I've probably spent 25 hours watching vids on youtube and reading some. I've even managed to get some new juice in the mail today. I'm kind of digging this "Kryptonite" from goodejuice. Anyway, I was thinking I would order a "Vamo V3" from fasttech.com and a kanger protank. It seems to be in my price range and I like the look of the vapor production I've seen from the few reviews that are out there.

So I guess my question is do you guys and gals think this a wise choice or should I bump up to something else. I've got to have a more satisfying experience at least where vapor production is concerned.

cigalikes are terrible -- UPGRADE condoned :)

You could always go to the VV Spinner kits if you're uncertain on a mod. You are going to need a back-up for the Vamo, plus batteries and charger, and more than 1 tank/clearomizer.

Some jump in head first, while others slowly make the climb up the ladder. Climbing up the ladder allows you to gather tools along the way. My original cigalikes sit on a dresser bateries depleted. I have my MVP with an iclear30 and my Triton Tank ego setup, all with filled tanks on them to rotate flavors.

Always need some solid backups. And if you get a mod or even ego batteries, you won't want another cigalikes :)

I say jump in head first. Worst thing that can happen is you don't like your mod and you just go and buy another :p I upgraded after a week and a half to a Tesla and I haven't looked back, since. I love it. The price was right. It's adaptable to almost any tank or clearo out there. Batteries are not expensive. It uses variable watts or voltage. Has an ohm reader. It's almost all aluminum base and extremely sturdy. There's a person on the Tesla Owner's Board that is stationed somewhere in Afghanistan (I think?) and his Tesla has been through hell and back and still going strong.

Right now I'm using a DCT carto tank on mine but I do think I'll do what you're doing and try out a Protank. I really want to like a wick clearo but I need to find the "right" one for me. Good luck and let us know what you decide on!

I don't think e-cig area as bad as you guys say they are!! I think you can easily carry on using them for a long time.

I love my Jacvapour v1p cig kit! Been 2 weeks without a analog these things are the closeting thing to real smoking!

I've also got a EGO EVOD (knock off) from fast tech coupe of days ago just for something that I don't have to keep refilling but I still prefer the e cig!!

I had this exact same experience. Stay strong, man. Upgrading is probably the best thing you can do. I found the more I invested in vape gear the less I thought about analogs. For well under a hundred bucks I grabbed a VAMO and some ProTanks, and love them! I also find these liquids hit my analog craving spot well:
Ahlusions - Cherry House Blend
Want2Vape - Pure Smoke
Halo - Freedom Juice and Prime 15 (I'd add Turkish but you really need to let that one steep before it gets good)
Let me know if you're used to menthols. Plenty of good ones to recommend.

Sounds great Clark. Most recommended kit on the New Members Forum is:

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

Neither over-powered, nor underpowered. If you do decide on the Vamo, make sure and get the kit with extra batts and charger. The V3 is excellent, I have the V2 and V3. The V3 is slightly better imho. If you want to go a little higher, a Sigelei is nice. I have the mini, the V3, the SVD. The new V5 comes out on July 15, and I'll probably get one, maybe pre-order at a discount on the 14th. Stainless is nice. The V3 is stainless is also very nice, but I don't think that Fasttech has them. Protank is very good. Make sure and get some evods and replacement heads. The evods and Protank use the same head, so that is convenient. Evod has a tighter draw and a nice vape, the Protank is airy, and produces a lot of vapor. Get both. You can get a 7 or 10 pack from Fasttech, and they're dirt cheap. Replacement heads in packs of 5 are less than a buck a piece. The other thing you can look at is the SVD on Fasttech. This is magnitude higher than the Vamo and it does telescope, and in stainless steel. Anyway, thanks for sharing. My two cents. Good luck, happy shopping and Vape On!

If they work for someone they work. That's great. They would never have worked for me though and when I hear that someone is having a hard time, I want to send them right to deluxe vaping. : )

Howdy Clark, I Smoked, for 35 yrs,at the end 2.5 Pks per day,250.00 per month. I started with the Blu,a cig-a like, but quickly found I needed something better. I went to the ego650,then the Ego1100. I am currently using the Ego1100,with the Texas Tuff Tank. I used the CE-4 clearomizers, but needed more taste. The Texas tuff tank is great. I use the Boge Cartomizers, standard resistence. I get the tanks and Cartos, from Vape Dudes and Valley Vapes, both Texas stores. I recently ordered a Vivi Vamo from Fasttech,it just shipped, from Hongkong. I have to see what this VV-VW is all about. The Ego,has kept me off Cigs for 2.3 years and I thought I would never stop. Unless I buy a new toy,I spend about 48.-56.00 per month on juice and cartos. The Texas tuff tank will handle any juice you throw at it,citrus, cinnamon, licorice. The Boge cartos must be pre-punched and valley vapes have decent prices on the Cartos. Good luck to you and if you have a vape shop in Corpus, stop in and talk to someone,or try their goods, they should also let you try their juices.

If we do I've yet to find it. We've got one smoke shop that carries 3 flavors of ejuice and that's all I've found so far. I'll look at both of those sites you mentioned.

How many tanks did you buy, I mean what would you consider adequate? Did you get glass or plastic?

Here's what really got me off analogs:
VAMO V2 MOD APV Variable Voltage Variable Wattage (with two 18650 batteries and the charger)
and two of these. Kanger Protank Pro Tank Glassomizer That's it! I started with what appears to be a different version of the set up that billbeckusa posted: Triton Tank System Starter Kits | Halo Cigs And while it is good, I honestly recommend that everyone jumps right into variable wattage/voltage.

I went one day with disposables and had to pick up something more cost effective. I got the Finiti kit at walgreens on sale (5 cartos for free with purchase too) and a 5pk of Blu cartos. These are all really to hold me over for the week until I get paid and can order the ego listed in a previous msg from my vapor store. I'm grateful that the local stores at least have *something* but I wish that there was a full-blown vapor shop in the area.

I'm a little over 24hrs without analogs and it's really awesome.

of all the ones previously mentioned, i own the Vamo, K100, and Sigelei Zmax V3.

I like the Zmax the best, but the Vamo is the best bang for the buck.

The Twist/Spinner previously mentioned is also pretty cool because it's the only mix&match starter kit i know of. i wish i'd started with that.

you're on your way!!! my advice is go to the best supplier sites set , register , and put your credit card on file- it's soooo much easier to to try anything and everything that catches your fancy. don't worry, in the end you'll find something you like and than you'll never think about analogs again. of course that's just equipment- juice is another story- they made a movie about it "the neverending story" good luck!
