As suggested by Thrasher elsewhere, I have found the best flavor, vapor and wicking on the cobra is with a wick consisting of 325 mesh rolled tightly, then 500 mesh rolled on top of that. So you end up with a "dual wick"(not talking about two seperate wicks). The 325 will help wicking by naturally vaping, and the 500 will help with capillary. This has worked wonders for me and I'm using 70vg liquid.
As for measurements, I usually start off with about 30mm of each, but in the end can't roll wick tight enough and might have to trim 5-10mm of the outer 500 mesh. Next time I'll start with 25mm of each size.

You could always finish rolling on a hard surface. I use my desktop due to synovitus in some of my fingers.

Interesting idea. I'm definitely going to try that out.
