i support my local B&M with small purchases, plus he mixes juices there, so we play and make up new flavors, but when buying hardware.... I gotta do it online.. Prices are just so much better. We even joke about it, and I even get him stuff when I order. They will never be able to compete as many have said due to their over head, but its nice to support them as much as possible, so we can have them around.. I have noticed that many more shops have been opening up over the past 2+yrs

Just wanted to say welcome to ECF!!! I've never bought anything from a B&M. when I started vaping, the closest B&M was an hour away. So I just got used to buying everything online. and as others have said, it's usually a lot cheaper. I second RTD for batteries. You can be assured that what you're getting is quality and the real thing. I'm sure illum.com is good to though I've never ordered from them personally they come highly recommended by plenty of folks. RTD also gives you a free battery case when you buy batteries in pairs. I did order my starter kit from sweet vapes and was happy with them. Other than that can't say, now I use an RDA on a Reo, and have most everything I need to make my own juice, so I really don't order much of anything at all anymore.

Thanks! :) I'm still enjoying trying a bunch of different juices, though I know making your own is the way to be really self sufficient and save a lot. Maybe further down the road I'll give it a try, coils might come first. I guess a lot of it depends on what happens with the fda etc by the end of the year :/

Aye sean i think this is what i will keep doing too, get some juice at the store, some online.. Hardware all online. This newer store near me is decent so I would like to see them do well. First store was a bit drab and 60 dollars for an istick 30 a month or so ago... Sigh, oh well. Live and learn!

I'm going to agree with some of the above posts. Online is almost always cheaper than going to a store. But I personally find it worth it, at least in the case of my store, to pay the extra for the service. But if you're not one of the people that has a top notch store (not everyone is as lucky as I am) then definitely save your money and shop online. ECF isn't as good as a warranty, but we're way better than nothing should anything you buy have issues. :)
Thanks man :) the store too are very clear about no warranty no returns too so there isn't even that advantage. Fine for the odd fancy juice purchase though.

Brick and mortar stores are always going to be way more due to overhead cost of the shop itself .

That is categorically false.

Virtually every online shop operates out of a B&M location. They have the same overhead as every other B&M, they make their profits through large volume sales rather than trying to maximize their profits on each individual sales. I've got a B&M chain near me called DFW Vapor that has very competitive prices. They sell a lot of stuff online which is why they can operate more than 6 B&M locations and still have competitive pricing.

1. My local shop is selling the sigelei for 130, but I see it online for 87 bucks at element vape. Also there tanks and batteries are half the cost of the shop. Is it too good to be true? I don't want to risk getting a knock off and if I spend the extra for that it is completely ok. I see that rubyroo on youtube gets quite a few things from there and seems to like them, so probably safe? I am not saying the owners are monsters I just read how hard it is to get genuine stuff across the board.

Thanks all!
Dom
I'm really adoring my 150. I spent 127 on it at my local B&M, but it was well worth it. I run a dual coil .2 ohm build on my Troll, and at 100 watts, it's a hot Vape, but outputs like a champion. I also run a STP on it. 30 watts is my sweet spot on the .5ohm OCC coils. Great mod though. Unless you are going lower than .1 ohm, you'll never need another device. Well worth it to get the genuine IMO.

The 100 and 150 look really sweet. I think I'm going to go with a couple of the mini 30ws though for now, at 34 bucks each I can get those, batteries, charger, another subtank and coils -- be good to go for 6 months or so at least for 200ish.

And depending on my level of self control I might look at the hex ohm or s150 for special occassions :)

I wasn't talking about chain vape shops I'm talking about mom and pop vape shops that only sell within the store and in small scale online . I'm not looking to get into an argument as I do agree just thought I'd clarify . We don't have lots of chains of vape shops as I am in Canada and in my experience walking into small shops as opposed to ordering online is in most cases much more expensive .

Online is generally cheaper. I still prefer my B&M for most things as mine is close and fairly inexpensive. Juice where I go is only $10 for 33mL, so I usually get some every time I'm in there and tend to get most everything else there as well - shipping for $15 worth of stuff isn't worth it for me.

Levelled up! Alright thanks again y'all.. 2 of the wee 30 mini sigeleis from couple of subtanks and enough coils to do through end of jan. At a very reasonable price to boot!

Now just for a couple of batts and a charger i will be well prepped.

Info really appreciated made a big difference :)

The CE4 type starter kit that I got from a local (sortof.. the closest anyway) B&M was almost $5 cheaper than the same kit from the online vendor's website. It was almost $7 more than the wholesale price from the same vendor though..

VapeNW is good, really speedy shipping and always good Customer service

I got my ipv3 from sweet vales for 99...super fast delivery, awesome experience

I have used both of these sites also and give them both a thumbs up also..

It also depends on the online stores that you look at.. Got to do research and not just buy from the 1st one.. If you check out the online stores today, you will see an iStick50w going for $40-$70. Same device, same everything.. You can also find some deals out there that get them into the $35 range... So as I believe that a local B&M can have some good deals on hardware by bundling things together, on the norm it's hard for them to beat the big online warehouses..

    Sorry for the rant...:vapor:

    1. Never ordered from them so I have no opinion.
    2. Illumin Supply - batteries at great prices. I use the Samsung 18650 25R's - $6+shipping every 2 get a free case
    3. World of Vapes (WoV) great for coils

Thanks this is really helpful, if you have any more time/help to give .. So based on my sigelei mini 30w needing a battery between 3.2 and 4.2 volt, these with the nominal voltage of 3.6 should be good right...
18650 Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh High Discharge FLAT Top

    Sigelei spec:
    • Variable Wattage Operating Range: 5.0W-30.0W
    • Atomizer Resistance range: 0.5ohm-3.0ohm
    • Battery capacity Required: 3.2V-4.2V
    • Max Output Voltage: 8.5V
    • Use one 18650 battery (High-Rated Flat Top Battery)
Still trying to brush up on the battery stuff y'all going through a bunch of the threads now...

Susan-S has a great list of trustworth vendors -- maybe she will stop by soon :)
I ordered some more of these just a few days ago and they are great -- they are Sony VTC4's with a different wrapper -- real deal though.
    Xtar High Drain 18650 2100mAh 30a (Sony VTC4 cell) - RTD vapor

Ordering online is almost always cheaper than shopping locally -- vape gear is included in this -- just do a search on here or google for complaints about the vendor if your not sure...

I'm gathering that these would be the best choice for say a 110 watt device i am probably going to cave and get ;) the hex ohm 2. The 20 amp samsungs seem to be a great choice for the 30 so i think i'll go with those for that...

I really appreciate the help, thank you!
