To the OP:

Have your hubby do a little math, and think things through a bit. How much did you two spend on cigarettes a day? And how much did that add up to on a monthly basis? That much e-liquid will last you two a LOOONNGG time!

At a pack a day each paying $5 / pk , it is break even in 3 weeks ... Plus maybe once the OP gets the stuff, the hubby will enjoy searching for "his" favorite flavor... :p

$200 isn't bad! Heck .... I spent more than that my first week. I would recommend trying smaller sampler packs ... Dark city vapors has some great flavors and there sampler packs are cheap.

The only this that bothered me about this post was the "permission"..... I cringe when I hear that word. I can see having discussions on major purchases , like buying a new house or car... But minor purchases?? In the end you've spent less than you probably did for two weeks of cigarettes for the both of you ...I don't see a "need" for "permission"...just my 2 cents worth.

And for what it's worth.... If spending doesn't take away from your household expenses( paying bills on time, savings) who cares what you spend???

Blues- You notice the big "Ha!" after the permission comment. My husband NEVER expects me to ask permission for anything, with the exception of major purchases. Let me clarify... He has been wanting money to work on his project car, but knows he has to ask "permission" before making any major purchases for these things. He knows necessities come first. When I said $200, he was simply having visions of what he could have done with that money. He isn't angry with me. He understands the financial conversion from analogs to ecigs. He is just irritated because if I go overboard, then I find a way to justify it. If he goes overboard, he gets in "trouble". Welcome to life with a woman!

I always find a way to make it fair. He doesn't know it yet, but for Christmas a $1000 is going to mysteriously find its way into his car account. You're welcome, Honey!

Sounds like a fair deal to me. My wife always says that what's hers is hers, and what's mine is negotiable. :D

That is sweet!

I wouldn't worry about overspending; we all do that in the beginning. Plus you would have spent that much or more on cigarettes, so I think it's justified if only for health reasons. The spending really does taper off after the first few months. Even when I figure in the cost of battery replacements, I only spend about a third of what I used to spend on my pack-a-day habit.

Congratulations to both of you for quitting the cigarettes. ;)

Somewhere out there
That is half the fun to go on buying sprees! LOL It will even out over time. I now make most all my own juices except for a few favs ready made I can't seem to duplicate. So have fun and try to order in small amounts for awhile, give your self a treat with a new juice or new set up every now and then as it is what helps keeps the ecigs working and fun.
I gave my self a budget, how much did I spend a year on cigarettes, that was my yearly budget. I did go over that some actually. You can then add up how much you have spent on cigarettes in your lifetime, that is another budget you can go by :) But basically find things that work for you and hubby and enjoy the vape ride :) bnrk

Well that should be a nice boost to his car account! My ex wife ( was married for 21yrs) would always know something was up when I would buy her expensive gifts...she KNEW I was getting ready for another expensive purchase....LOL....my philosophy was never ask permission....just buy my way into forgiveness!! LOL........I bought her a Mercedes SLK for her 40th birthday....instead of being Oh wow...I love ( which she did...) her first reaction was....OK...what are you buying NOW....lol....(she was right...two weeks later that was a nice new Black Porsche Boxster S in the drive way!)

I was just like you....going overboard I would always find away to justify...but my wife never got in trouble for going overboard...I never cared what she bought...if it made her happy...I was happy...

Sounds like her hubby has himself a keeper!! I hope you found some great flavors to Vape!! Three company I would HIGHLY Recommend...Ahlusion, Backwood Brews, and often overlooked Dark City Vapors....all three have GREAT flavors and even better customer service!!

P.S.....being a certified crazy car guy....let me warn you....it only gets worse!!

I have a talent for convincing myself that variety is they key to not backsliding into cigarettes. (Weirdly enough, I rarely felt the need to experiment with cigarette brands.) So I buy a lot of E-liquid. A. LOT. It's still better for me.

My wife knows exactly when to negotiate. It goes something like this:

Her: "How do you like this new lingerie?"
Me: "Ohhh... that's nice come here..."
Her: "Hands off, let's talk about that new purse I need first..."
Me: "Whatever you want honey, now get over here, no time for talking"

Gets me every time, and I don't even care. Kudos to her for knowing how to negotiate properly, lol.
