Apologies in advance -- if someone has already started a thread about this, I hope someone will post the link, as I've been unsuccessful in finding it through Search...

I spent a week with family during the Christmas holidays and it was crazy weird-wonderful to sit inside the house amongst my family with a cup of coffee and vaping my heart out after dinner (instead of shivering in the cold, as I have done for 30 years.) Most of my family members said they couldn't smell a thing, even when standing/sitting directly next to me while I was vaping. Mom was the only one who said she could smell anything at all, but that it was pleasant. None of my family have ever smoked or lived with smokers.

On the other hand, I have a good friend who quit smoking about 20 years ago, and he has forbidden me from using my pen style in his home. The first time I showed it to him (and other friends there for a party) and then took a puff to demonstrate, he immediately objected and opened the door to his back porch, pointing the way. He said the smell was just like tobacco and was unacceptable in his home. Everyone else said they smelled nothing. Of course, I complied and will continue to do so.

Same juice on both occasions - Riskee 11mg.

But it *is* curious to me that some people can smell it, and even object to it, while some people don't seem to smell a thing.

So I'm just wondering what other people have experienced from others as regards "a smell" and if you've had any objections, such as that from my friend.

My sister will never, ever, come around my house and visit me because she cannot stand the 'stink' of cigarettes, yet although I have never said a word to her about it.....when I visit her house, I sometimes feel like I cannot breathe because of the horrible 'stink' of her dog.......I have yet to find out how she feels about the almost non existent smell of e-smoking.

I respect and understand how people hate the stink of tobacco but I must say if a friend of mine should ask me not to 'e-smoke' in their house they won't be a friend of mine any more. The slight odour of e-smoke cannot be compared to the stink of tobacco and if a friend cannot put up with it then they don't deserve me as a friend.

I would never ask a friend to leave my house because they smell of BO or because I don't like their perfume or their aftershave, or because they smell of pets or anything else that I hate the smell of, I would show them respect and not even mention it, they are a friend and I can live with it...........and so I would not think much of a 'friend' that would ask me to leave their house because they don't like the almost non existent odour of e-vapour, what respect are they showing for me?

I can smell RY4 vapor when revisiting a room too. I can also smell vanilla. Haven't been able to smell other flavors that I've tried though.

I'm pretty sure there was a thread on here somewhere about people finding their windows got a buildup from vapor - too lazy to search for it right now.

nq - I've always had a great sense of smell, even while I was smoking. Taste for some reason was not as good, though that has improved some now. It still isn't as good as many people's judging from reading wine reviews :) But smell, yep I can, and always have been able to, smell more odors than most of my non-smoking friends.

If my wife sees me vaping, she moans about the smell of it. However, I can sit in the same room as her, when she is glued to her soaps, vaping away and she won't mention a thing. Psychological much? :)

I do also have a mate that will often make a comment when me and my other mates vape near him. We all use just the regular tobacco cartridges.

I think there is a feint smell from these cartridges, but most people will be pushed to notice it - and it certainly doesn't hang around very long.

Ha, i get positive reactions but I'm addicted to the menthol/mint cartridges and never have had anyone groan or complain about the smell it leaves behind. Mostly it's, "Oh that smells nice."
