    No you can't
sorry for my spelling in title "Opinion of new regulations"

I think FDA will proposes to treat electronic cigarettes as medicinal device product when their nicotine content goes above a certain threshold like 4 mg.
This way not to remove ecigs sales because there's no proof that its an evil product.
Long term study to be done years and years never being completed, getting nowhere with it.

If this was to happern an add cost would be added to it to help pay for obma care etc. Not being called a tax. You would have go to a Doctor for a perscription so you can purchase as medicinal products with an added cost to cover obma care, Doctors must comply and your name to medical data base for record keeping along with your medical history. Since its a perscription it is easy veiwed by the medical people and insurance companys plus gov't when every they want to. Added charges (not tax) could be leveled on your tax return which would allow IRS who is the Obma care enforcer to step in also.

Limit nicotine level to around 4mg.
    New labeling.
Control productions with standards that have be submitted them for approval.

I think it'd be total B.S. if the FDA did that to us.

Obama Care is B.S. in and of itself.

Honestly, if the FDA winds up making what you say happen, I'll find ways to get hold of what I need to continue vaping - even if it requires bending/breaking a few rules. No way am I going back to cigarettes at this point.

As it stands, the U.S. government we currently have can burn to the ground for all I care. We could use a new government with people that actually care more about America, it's values, and the American people than the money in their wallets.

I agree that they will probably limit the nicotine and types of devices, but there'e a federal judgement from 2010 that says that the if the FDA regulates e-cigs, then they must do under the tobacco act. (preferrably as a reduced harm product, but they show no signs of actually getting the mandated reduced harm category established)

If they were to regulate e-cigs under the tabacco act, would that mean e-cigs would be treated like traditional cigarettes?

That's what they're trying to decide, and why it was so important that we commented in the public comments that were an addundum to the hearing they held in december on tobacco harm reduction. The FDA is not particularly thrilled about e-cigs (understatement alert) and seems to be ignoring logic and evidence that support the idea that e-cigs are a safer alternative to smoking. Our hope is that if enough of us speak up, that we can get them to look at vaping differently.

Sometime in April, they'll publish how they intend to regulate, and there will be another comment period- it'll be important for us to speak up again then too.

In the meantime, signing the petition, keeping an eye out on the Legislation News , joining CASAA and speaking out/educating whenever and however we can is going to be important.

in reality the FDA cant do anything effective to ban ecigs themselves they can try to regulate the liquid but then we would just start ordering bulk unflavored nic from over sea's,i have a half gallon on hand now just in case:)

I agree with you. They cannot do anything with the devices mainly because it's easy enough to just build your own device. Have a look at all the rebuildable atomizers out now. They can't do a think on the device end. They can limit the little lookalikes maybe but so what?

As for bulk unflavored nic from overseas, if you think that's going to continue after regulations you are misinformed. The FDA was seizing liquid nic at customs in 2009 prior to a court ruling that they couldn't. It will be the same as trying to import illicit drugs, they will find out and seize it.

Yes the judgement is right. FDA dose not have to regulate under the tabacco act. It only has to say its a physical addiction to nicotine then its coverd under obama care. That they can do. Then health agencey steps in with safe dose under Doctor care recommentaions. Now its covered under Obama care. Any stats that the health agency has issued for nicotine can be used.

US health agency says already nicotine is drug & addictive. Case close. Obama care

I had to edit this post here, I was think if nicotine is a drug how come we have been allowed to buy it?

oh im sure they will catch a few shipments here and there but most will get through they just dont have the means to stop it,other country's who have banned ejuice have tried to stop the shipments as well, but as long as the shipper uses some desecration and does not label the box with some huge ecig related label they have no idea what is in the box could just be a large bottle of lube for all the know they cant check everything by hand:)

Hey, kid. There are not many your age around thinking like you do these days. Way to go. Hell, most all I know are sucking at the nanny teat so they love whom ever is in office. Orwelle (in his book)stated that 'the people would defend the system that would enslave them'. Goes without saying, I don't 'fellowship' with very many today. I wanna pokeum in the eye HeHe JK......no I'm not

    Electronic Cigarettes
    ecigs-large.jpg

Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) are battery operated products designed to turn nicotine and other chemicals into a vapor. You then inhale the vapor. These products are often made to look like:

    • Cigarettes
    • Cigars
    • Pipes
    • Pens
E-Cigarettes may contain ingredients that are known to be toxic to humans. Because clinical studies about the safety of e-cigarettes have not been submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), you have no way of knowing:

    • If they are safe
    • Which chemicals they contain
    • How much nicotine you are inhaling
Nicotine is a highly addictive substance. Additionally, these products may be attractive to kids. Using e-cigarettes may lead kids to try other tobacco products—including conventional cigarettes—which are known to cause disease and lead to premature death.
Although e-cigarettes may be marketed as a tool to help smokers quit, they have not been submitted for FDA evaluation or approval and there is no evidence to support those claims. There are, however, a number of FDA-approved quit-aids available to smokers, including:

    • Nicotine gum
    • Nicotine skin patches
    • Nicotine lozenges
    • Nicotine oral inhaled products
    • Nicotine nasal spray
    • Zyban
    • Chantix

They will use a pack of 'nicotine crazed dogs' all hopped up on coffee.

The advantage here is that nicotine, like caffeine, is addictive but medically desirable for the benefits it provides for diseases like Alzheimer's. It was amazing to me that ecigs weren't classified as drug delivery devices instead of tobacco products. Had they been termed pharmaceutical devices, we would have to go to a doctor and obtain them by prescription.

Add in the benefits that propylene glycol offers for its germicidal properties and its also a preventative for colds and lung ailments. Hospitals use PG as a misted additive to air handling units. The PG mist encapsulates airborne germs and dust particles and causes them to float gently to the floor where they can be mopped up and removed.

We have many arguments for the desirability of ecigs. Everywhere we vape, we rid the air of some of the bad stuff without stinking up the place!

If nicotine sales become illegal it will be pretty hard to import it. It would be one thing for a mfg in China to send you a properly labeled bottle of nicotine liquid and hope that maybe customs doesn't grab it - if you assume the risk. To get them to package it discretely or try to sneak it past customs is a different story - I doubt they would do that.

I bet $$ that if nicotine sales becomes illegal at least a few people will kill themselves trying to extract it. Let's just hope cooler heads prevail. I also signed the petition and will keep looking for additional ways to help out the cause.

What can't be done on the fed level will be done on the state level. Look at anlog cigs. No one wanted to get involved now nyc $13.00 A PACK other states also high a few states like VA I think around $3.00 to $4.00 a pack come on I use to pay less 25 cents a pack way back. But not long ago two dollars right here in NYC. Enslave people are the ones without a voice.

How much do you think a 500 ml bottle of nic will cost in about two years. Demand causes prices to increase. The reason food increases is ONLY because of the demand and when theres plenty to bring down prices what happerns it never gets picked so prices stay high..
You poor consumer with my money.

The reason it was never classified as drug delivery devices because no one ask them to. Never been sold as one. Its for enjoyment if it help off of anlog cig greatbut no makes that claim in there right mind. I know a few website do, I would be coutious about them makeing claims that have not been proven. A lie is lie and can't be trusted.
