I perfer the clear type with wicks in them.
I dunno who makes them, the people in the vaping stores i goto just have a drawer full of them.

I like them because they give a warm wet vapor that i like morethan the dry vapor i get from batting style cartomizers.

madvapes.com has them, tried some, liked it

For the money and ease of use:

Vision Extreme Giants - I can fill one and go all day or more with it. It's really easy to use. Just pull the cap, drip it full, and pop the cap back in. It lasts for weeks easily, maybe even months. The throat hit is moderate, and flavor slightly weaker than say, dripping directly on a 510, but it's a solid all day trouble free carto for me. Mine are around 3 Ohms on the meter at present, and I like them best between 4 and 4.5 volts.

Giantomizers - I have a few of these in rotation. These need a syringe or needle tip bottle to fill unmodded. They are considerably less expensive than the Visions right now, and to me don't vape quite as smoothly (without some simple modding), but for the price, they are a standard work-horse in my vaping arsenal for all day vaping. I got three of them months ago...still using all three (many ml vaped through them). These are all fairly high in resistance now...over 3 Ohms as they have aged, but I still like them at lower voltages under 4 Volts best. They don't wick as well at higher voltages.

The Regular CE2, I got 3 boxes of these @2.4 Ohms over 6 months ago (some regular size and some XL sized). I like to use these on mini 808 batteries with an adapter. Some were Revision 3 with metal cases, so I did crack them open and mod them a bit at first use. Some were Revision 5 metal...I used those right out of the box. So far not a single one of them has gone bad on me...still using the oldest of them on a VV mod (I can crank them up gradually as they age and gain resistance). For most of my liquids they are solid performers. Again, these need a needle of some sort to fill them unmodded. The flavor and throat-hit is moderate compared to dripping on a 510. Still very good. The Fiddle factor is a mess with these (pry out washer, inject liquid, put it all back together), but the vape is good at lower voltages, and they last and last and last.

Sapphire Bud - I have a couple of liquids that I really like in these. They are easy to fill without tools. So far I'm using 2 of them, a LR and a HV. They've probably had around 15ml of liquid through each one and still going strong. Not a bad value. Again, TH and Flavor is moderate compared to a 510 to me. These feel quite different from the CE2.

SmokTech Dual Coil - I like them with several of my liquids, and I like them LOT with a few of them, but they drain batteries pretty quickly. I find I have to top them off pretty frequently. It takes a day for me to break them in, and from there I can usually squeeze another 3 or 4 days from them before they get rank. Value...not too bad, but definitely more costly to operate than the wick based cartos.

Vertical Single Coil cartos like the Boge and SmokTech - Inexpensive, and nice, but I do have to top them frequently. I haven't tried any of the mega/eGo sized ones yet. I usually get 2 to 3 days out of one unless I'm running a really clean/clear liquid, in which case might get a full week from it. Maybe it's psychological, but I have several acidic liquids that I can't use in these, nor in the dualies...I can taste the polyfill, and whatever that cardboard-like stuff is up the center every drag and it makes me gag. Note, it's only certain liquids that do that....really acidic ones...so I never put those liquids in a vertical coil any more.

Horizontal Coil Cartos, like the Kanger - When it comes to poly-fill cartos...a bog standard KR-808-D1 cartomizer with a horizontal coil is still my favorite if I have a battery capable of driving them with at least 4 volts (these usually meter in at around 3 Ohms). The polyfill in them is different somehow...I can even put my Atomic Cinnamon in them and they don't get that chemical taint to the flavor. These things usually taste great to me up until the day they finally 'pop'. I average at least an ounce of e-liquid through these before they finally die on me (tho' I occasionally get one that doesn't even last a full day before it pops). Also, I find that I don't have to 'top them' as frequently to keep them going...as they wick 'down' to a smaller area that comes in contact with the atomizer...instead of 'inward' to a long vertical coil. No, these don't crank out as much 'visible' vapor as the vertical coils...but I really dig the flavor and TH from them, plus the longer periods required for a top off to keep them working as if they were 'just filled'. I do find I vape more often with these...they might not deliver quite the 'nic hit' as a vertical coil...but again, I just prefer the flavor and topping frequency they offer over the vertical coil stuff.

The Vortex - I've tried a couple of versions of these. They are super easy to use. For most liquids they are quite nice to me, but I do have a couple that just don't taste right in them. They are fun to mod, and you can rewind the coils in them pretty easily if you're into that sort of thing. I love them on mini batteries, but I think they are a little over priced at this time. Eventually they will crack or leak, especially if you like higher voltages which can give the clear plastic hell due to the extra heat. If they change the plastic type, or the price came down more inline with say, the Boge or Kanger regular cartos, I'd LOVE THEM.

For atomizers...I keep at least one of many at hand (510, 306, 901, 801) as they each bring out something different in every liquid. The 801 is my most used...even on my bottom fed Boge V2 it's my current favorite. I just love the texture of the vape and the flavor that the 801 brings out. These also are pretty consistent from brand to brand, last well for me, are easy to find, and have a steady reasonable price. As a nice plus, the 801 works pretty well with carts, so I can easily load that hour long, once a week after dinner vape that I'd rather not commit a cartomizer to holding.

So...in terms of vaping pleasure, I like to keep some of them all nearby...I can reach for what ever my mood is.

To answer your question (after all of my opinionated rambling), if I could only have ONE:
In terms of 'bang for the buck value' for any off the shelf cartomizer, the CE2 type carto has yet to be beat for me (note, I got one box of the older Clearomizers with the crack prone plastic, modded them with syringes and half of them still work but have been retired...after that I only had the metal ones, and the newer CE2 doesn't use that crappy plastic anymore). Those things just last and last and last.

A tossup for me. I prefer Boge 2.0 or 3.0 ohms on various stay-at-home mods, but I like Echo-e cartos on walkin-around fat-batts because of their greater capacity. The Echo-e cartos also clean up better than Boges, which are so cheap they're hardly worth cleaning.
