Is it easier to quit analogs by vaping tobacco flavors or other flavors? I have tried all kinds of flavors but still smoke analogs. It seems like everyone I know has health related issues due to smoking and more recently my best friend was hospitalized because of bronchitis and copd. While in the hospital the Dr. has found a mass on her lung. I am just tired of worrying about my health and I am the only one that can change it. I am afraid of failure but baby steps I will take.

There are usually two types of people: "I want it to taste just like a cigarette!" or "I want it to taste nothing like a cigarette!" I was in the "want it to taste like a cigarette" camp at first. I quickly learned that is impossible. The closest I'd ever get would be what tobacco smells like before it's combusted. It's impossible to recreate the taste of burning combustion. I know vapers who've been doing this over a year who vape (what I feel) is the NASTIEST tobacco flavors out there. But they love them. And I'm no one to judge. Whatever works, man. But I've also seen stinky, grizzled, 30-year PAD smokers digging blueberry and stuff like that, too. And I remember hearing them swear, "I'll never try flavors! If I wanted a blueberry, I'd eat one!" After a while, blueberry is the only juice they'll use.

I vaped fruits when I first started. I did manage to quit smoking after a month of doing both. There is a saying that floats around here: count how many cigs you don't smoke, not how many you do. Some people take a while to finally break free. Others that have one or two a day. Yet others that manage to stop smoking immediately.

I did find that NET vapes (naturally extracted tobacco) helped me with that little niggle I would get for a cig. It took me about 5 months into vaping before I tried the NET's. There is no one solution that works for everyone.

Samples are your friend :)

Personally I think the tobacco flavors didn't work for me at the beginning. They just made me miss the taste of my "Real Camels". It's like I switched to some cheap knock off walmart brand that used cardboard shavings as fillers ;) Ok well not that bad but you get my point.

I eventually tried some different flavors and don't recall now but it was either a strawberry shortcake, or some type of vanilla caramel that made me think..."Hey this really isn't that bad. I can live with this."

Now I still vape tobacco from time to time but usually mix it with something. So for me the introduction to flavors was key in getting my to quit completely...as from time to time I would cheat and have a real one either in morning or at night when I just had to have my original taste of a Camel.

Just my 2 cents and everyone is different so results my vary.

You get matched with the right nicotine level, flavor, and equipment you should quit in a day or two if thats your goal.

It depends completely upon each individual's personal tastes. My local vape shop has a e-liquid flavor sampling bar with over 120 flavors to choose from. They have a list of all of those flavors on a sheet of paper, with the tobacco flavors marked with an asterick for those people looking for a "tobacco flavor". People are free to try any number of flavors, from tobacco to menthol to fruit to bakery flavors. Finding a flavor that they like is as important as finding the right e-cig device to use.

Truth be told, no "tobacco flavor" is going to taste like a particular cigarette brand, ie Marlboro, Camel, Winston, etc. As Rocket pointed out, the flavor may smell like a pack of cigarettes when you first open the pack, but the vapor produced from the e-liquid will only be a "hint" of what the brand name cigarette tasted like.

Realize that after years of smoking a smoker's taste buds have been severely damaged. Once they have quit smoking, the taste buds heal and a normal sense of taste should return. Many new vapers who start out with a tobacco flavor will soon realize that they no longer like tobacco flavors once their taste buds have healed, and will change to another flavor. They may realize they want nothing to remind them of how a cigarette tasted. At that point they may switch to a candy or fruit flavor, a coffee flavor, etc.

There are also new vapers who want to start out with anything that doesn't taste or remind them of a cigarette. I would think that if these other flavors are acceptable, these vapers are already ahead of the game.

It's also important to start out with the right nicotine content of the e-liquid, determined by how many cigarettes you smoked per day. For example, a pack per day smoker might be recommended to start out with 12 - 18 mg of nicotine. Only a small bottle (10 ml, or a week's supply) should be purchased initially, to be able to determine from their experience whether that amount is adequate, too much, or not enough, nicotine. Depending upon their experience, they can then determine if the original nicotine percentage is what they should continue with, or whether to jump higher or lower.

A GOOD STARTER SETUP FOR A BEGINNING VAPER

Flavors are only one aspect of switching from smoking to vaping and probably not the most important. IMO, nicotine content will help more than finding the perfect flavor(s). If you're still craving cigarettes, you may want to try some eliquids with a higher nicotine content.
One of the things that helped me quit smoking and switch to vaping was not vaping like I smoked. When I smoked, I'd have a cigarette and then when I felt the need for another, I'd light up. With vaping, I keep my PV close to hand and take a puff whenever I feel like it; not when I need to. :)

My first juice purchase was 30ml of tobacco and 30ml of cherry coke. I liked the cherry coke, but thought that I'd eventually crave the tobacco flavor. I never did, and recently gave it to my dad along with an eGo Twist starter kit. He initially swore that he'd only want the tobacco flavor, but he's starting to come around and realize that others flavors might be nice.

I've actually lost about 5 pounds since I quit smoking, and I think it's mostly a result of the sweet flavors taking care of my sweet tooth. I don't feel the need to snack as often.

To me, tobacco flavours always tasted like … something, but definitely not a cigarette. And I'm not really a fan of the taste of tobacco-y something. I really like “nature” flavours – fruits, berries, mint, honey – all the good stuff. :)

As others have said, if you're starting out, your best bet would be to get a wide selection of flavours – tobaccos, nature flavours, drinks – and see what works for you. Some flavours you'll love, some will be meh, and some you'll outright hate.

The most expensive part of my journey in vaping over time was spending way more money on juice than I ever did on hardware. Ordering blind online was always a crapshoot. But once I found vendors I liked, I stuck with them. For me, it's always been:

1) The Vapor Chef for fruits: Honey Pearry. My number 1 all-time all-day never-get-tired of it vape.
2) Day Break by NicQuid. A roasted, creamy french vanilla tobacco.
3) Boba's Bounty. Nuff said.
4) Smooththol, also by NicQuid.

When I'm craving a real cigarette, which I still do occasionally, I'll use my Smokeless Image Volts with some Heather's Heavenly Vapes NET Purity line of tobacco flavors. Legend, Dark Horse, and Shadow usually do the trick.

Love 'em, never get tired of 'em

I also agree that finding flavors online is a hit or miss proposition. Once I found a vendor or flavor I liked, I tended to continue using that vendor or flavor. That's not to say that I'll like all or even most of the flavors of a favorite vendor, far from it. But I will say that the e-liquid vendors who make all-natural, all-organic flavorings tend to be my favorites.

  • Dripeez: Specialize in all-organic, all-natural fruit flavors. Golden Apple, either alone or with some of their Cinnamon or Rum flavor added by myself, is my favorite from Dripeez.

  • Virgin Vapors: Also all-organic, all-natural flavors. Organic Kona Velvet Milkshake has been a favorite of mine for over a year. Taste to me is like a fine coffee house caramel-mocha frappe.

  • Vaperite: Also all-organic, all-natural flavors. Kona Cream and Double Espresso have been staples in my collection.

  • Rx Vapor: DNA is a fruit flavor which seems to be a different fruit each time I vape it. Never get tired of this one.

  • Volt: Ice Menthol. My very first flavor I vaped after smoking Marlboro Menthols. I've tried several different menthol flavors, and this is still my favorite.

When I first started vaping I started out with desserts and fruits. I still have all kinds of flavors. I did good in the beginning then my life got turned upside down and I let stress get the better of me. I have been trying with no success for over a month now and yesterday I decided to give a tobacco flavor a try. So far it is working better but I'm not sure if it is the actual flavor or my will power.
