I have a 1300 X2 that is 6 days old. I plug it in to charge every night before I go to bed. Only 1 time in 6 days has the charge light been out when I got up in the morning. It works for me all day with no problem, but I am wondering if I may be overcharging since the light is not going out and I will end up burning the thing out? This is a replacement for one that came apart, and my wife has one as well and those 2 never take more then a couple4 hours for the charge light to go out????

I contacted customer service and have been told I can return it for a new one if I want, and have a RA number to do it. I just don't want to pay the $3.00+ shipping and be without it while awaiting a replacement.

I guess my question is would you just carry on and use the one I have that the charge light does not go off, or send it back?

Although everybody says you shouldn't charge a battery at night while you're asleep, I do it all the time. But I'd be real worried about charging a battery unattended if the charging light never goes off. I would try charging for a longer period of time when you can keep an eye on it. If the light never goes off, it's pretty new and obviously not working right, so I'd send it back. If it really is overcharging, you could have an explosive situation.

BiXLL, I would definately contact SI CS and send it back, for your own safety as WorksForMe stated and so the SI CS can be notified that the potential problem with some batteries. I noticed another thread that you responded on where a customer had a problem with their X2 900 battery which has already been replaced once.

I did contact SI CS and have talked to them about this a couple times. It is up to me as to weather I send it back for a replacement. They reminded me it is warrented for 3 months, so I think I am going to just hang on to it and see if it continues to function properly.

I am kinda taken back by the comments about charging it over night, it is of such low voltage and size it does not worry me what so ever. You guys would have a caniption fit if you saw my boat batteries and tractor battery on full time maintainer chargers over the winter!!!!

You don't hold those batteries up to your face a hundred times a day.

To each his own but if I had any kind of doubt about a battery I'd either replace it or dispose of it.

Oh man, ANOTHER example of me doing stuff I should not do!

Some 20 to 30 years ago.. When I was a bachelor with not a worry...many people told me that I shouldnt jump out of an airplane. Fortunately I ingnored them and a group of guys and I parachutted out of a plane on a trip to texas.

It was a great experience. The bungee jump I hated.

I hate to repeat what others have already said, but I had the same thing happen to my 1st X2 that I ordered, a 650. When I switched the USB cable with the one that came with my 2nd X2, it worked fine. I'd definitely switch the USB cables first before sending it back. Also check the wall charger, if you're using one, to make sure the connection is snug.
