I'm wondering here is what people add to their mix that isn't a direct flavor.

I've only just started out and have just ordered my first packet of Stevia, that got me thinking to what other additives are are out there that people use. I wan't to get a selection of additives to try out but I don't know what is available yet (I have searched and found various different things people have mentioned but thought it would be nice to get them in one place). I just found a link where vinegar is mentioned which would never have occurred to me.

So what have you experimented with or use in your mixes? (It could be to change the flavor, thickness, throat hit, vapor etc.)

Feel free to redirect me if there is a post somewhere for this already.

The thread referenced by bcollier is a great resource. From what I've found fiddling around with a few additives is to use them with restraint. Many seem to help at first but after the juice has set for a while things change and flavor usually becomes muted -- again, this has been my experience, YMMV. The only things I use regularly are EM and saline and in moderation. They both help "pop" especially fruit flavor juices for me.

+1 on using additives very lightly. A little is a lot. And that thread mentioned previously is a must read

No idea how I missed that thread sorry, I will go and have a good read through could take a while at 680 posts :O

No problems..... I admit to not reading every single post in that thread, but I have read many of them and learned lots from it. There are many very adept DIY'ers here to learn from. Good luck and watch out for eye strain......:D

Thanks I'll have a read of those as well.

I'm still going through the complete thread making notes in the form that I'm after (i.e. listing items under sweetness, bitterness, flavor enhancers headings)

I do get the feeling that by the end I may end up with a list where every item is under every heading lol. This is down to peoples tastes though so the list will only be a starting point.

Still interesting to see things like salt, vinegar in there. I'd never have thought of those.
