Options. We need options

Since the switch over, here are some things I'd like to see change. I get that the forum engine is probably better and more suited to ECF's size but the layout and readability have gone down. The forum now looks cluttered and amateurish compared to its previous iteration.

1. The ability to change the forum colors like you could on the previous version.
2. The ability to turn off Moods. Moods? Seriously? Do we need this? What's next, an indicator of the users bowel condition? Regular, irregular, irritable or explosive diphtheria? Mood does nothing to add the forum experience.
3. The ability to turn off ECF Supporting Member Logos. They take up a huge amount of screen real estate and make the forum less readable. I get wanting to show supporting members but how about a thin banner under their name instead?
4. The ability to turn off Avatars, at least in the topics lists. Again, they take up a huge amount of screen real estate and make the forum less readable.
5. The ability to turn off or move the whole upper right hand stuff like user info, Staff Online or Forum Statistics. Recenter the forum topics and move these to the top or bottom. It's unneeded info and the space dedicated to it is disproportionate to its value.

Not deleted, just hid them from non-supporting members so you didn't have to look at your lack of mood.

+1 (more if I could) on changing the Supporting Member bubble to a banner.
The bubble takes up way too much real estate. A banner would be a much cleaner look.
I believe (hope) the work is in progress for an option to change forum colors. I'm looking forward to that.

i miss the customizable colors too. i prefer a darker background, it is just easier to read.

Can't happen due to the way the software handles pagination.

I have tightened up the vast amount of white space "some" by using adblock to remove some of the extraneous graphics. The "text to whitespace" ratio is still mind boggling, but I have not given up!
