All my mods with the exception of one are topped with Orchid V4. I used Kayfun top fill caps for easier filling. They build easy but are prone to leaking if not wicked correctly. So what is your favorite Orchid Build?

I did the same back in December, and 5 months later they're still my go-to tanks. Any flaws I can nit-pick with other DC tanks is absent with the Orchid (and now the monstrous Evil Eye that sits on my parallel mech box, which is an Orchid on steroids).

I just use 28g, ten coils raps each. .8 ohms.
I do almost the same with a VV mod, just a few more wraps to get me to 1 ohm.
The mech toppers get 24 ga duals at 0.3 ohm.

I think i fall into the orchid addict category too haha.I have 6 of them,2 of the v1,2 v4,and 2 v6's.I've just ran standard builds on them using .28 gauge running them between .5 and .9 ohms.Just like duc916,i have also expanded into the evil eye since they are pretty much a giant sized orchid,i have 1 already, and another in the mail,it just never stops haha.

I love my Orchid V2 & V4 also! My setup is 5 wrap of 28 gauge @ .47ohms w/ organic cotton on a SMPL mod. Rarely use my drippers when I'm out now. Orchid Photo.jpg

Hey... I got the kayfun top fill as well, but the barrel doesn't reach the oring seal....so I can't use it. Maybe if I left the barrel unscrewed a bit, but I think it'd lead then.

Right now, 8 wrap 28g KA1, 2.0mm tights coils.... Works well, but essentially my first working build on the orchid v4....just got it, aqua v2, squape R, and KF4....and messing around with all of them.
So far, the orchid is the most reliable.

Are you sure it doesn't reach? Mine all looked like they weren't reaching by a millimeter or so, but they were in fact reaching just enough to seal against the tip of the chimney.

The problem I had with a few of my (fasttech) KF top fill caps was the two little O-rings weren't sealing, because the top piece of the top fill cap was bottoming out against the bottom piece, before they could get compressed. That was easily fixed by sanding the bottom portion of the top piece to get an extra half turn or so. You should try a pull test on just the top fill cap and see if it's sealing properly before installing it on the Orchid (put it up against your palm and pull on it). That may be your problem.

Great! I'll give that a go, it is the fasttech clone and top cap, so should work.... I'll report back when I get around to it... Will be a while though, cause I've got 5 rtas in rotation... But I'm anxious to try a dual 28g twisted build in the orchid.... This thing is the cheapest I got and far outperforms the others.
Orchid - great vapor and flavor
Squape reloaded - great vapor, slightly better flavour, but tricky to wick and I have twisted in it right now
KF4 - quite a pain with resistance and all the parts, but really solid smooth vape, even though it's tighter, and easy to wick. Using 4S kit
Aqua v2 - just like the orchid deck, needed some oring love for no leaks and post screw to cinch wire correctly.... Monster vape and flavour, same build as orchid right now.
Subtank mini - pain to wick, but dependable. Little muted flavour
All in all.... Don't know which is my favourite yet, but for now the orchid and subtank mini are the only ones I trust in my pocket while not in a zip lock.

Cheers!
