Orchid RBA wicking RAGE

I bought the Orchid rba V1 Tobeco clone a few weeks ago. The first time I wicked it, it wicked perfectly and I was able to vape on it for about a week. But I haven't had any luck with it ever since.

No matter how little cotton I use I am getting a nasty taste that makes me want to vomit after the 3rd or 4th hit on it. What's odd is that after I get this disgusting taste, I will open it up and pull out the cotton and will not see any burn spots on the cotton at all.

If anyone has this rba and some tips on wicking it please comment. What was my favorite rba for about a week has become my worst.

i cut the cotton so just the tips go into the channels. Cutting even with the edge of the build deck. The only problems I have with any of my Orchids is they use more juice than my drippers! Posting a pic of your wicks might help identify the problem. Also, rayon works very good in the Orchid.

It might help to see your build or if you could describe the bad taste?
Does it taste burned ?
Obvious but did you clean it fully before the rebuild...?

Maybe you simply don't agree with cotton? Cotton certainly influences the flavor and you could try another wicking material as well?

Strip it, Soak it, Scrub it.

May have nothing to do with the build and just got a case of the nasties. Yes, it can happen. I had a dripper that went sour(nasty) without any reason I could figure out. 2 serious cleanings later it started working right again.

I used cotton in my Orchid for one day. It tasted horrible to me. I went to Sally's and got a lifetime supply of rayon for 11 bux and tried that. Not only is it much easier to wick with but, to me, tastes MUCH better than cotton. I have not had a leak or bunt taste since.
