Nice ricks, it will be a good change from the KFV4, if it doesn't leak all out with your MaxPG juice. ;)

I always wanted an Orchid but I have a Silverplay V1 and that build deck is very much the same except for the massive juice channels and the chimney is two piece.

You might want to look into a Aqua V2 as well, similar build deck and not as juice hungry. It also allows you to do a single coil build by blocking off one of the air holes with a screw. If you pack some cotton in the juice channels of the unused side, that keeps it from flooding or leaking.

Keep us posted on your progress with the infamous Orchid!

Thanks TrollDragon, I have not had any leaks yet out of 4 builds playing with it so far. Tried Rayon first and had to try silica of course. It worked ok with the silica but I need to wait for my Japanese cotton to get here to try that. Going to try the Rayon again today with different sizes of kanthal coils. It has some great flavor. I think its because of the short chimney. I read about that which is one of the reasons I wanted to try the Orchid V3. The price I paid for 2 of them also made it easy.

Congratz! It is always great to hear when new vape gear works well right out of the box.

I think you'll find the Rayon to wick better than the cotton does but that is just my personal opinion. I put Japanese Cotton in the Aqua 2 the other night and I don't think it does as good a job.

Enjoy good sir!

How many refills can you get out of rayon?

The Rayon always outlasts my coils gunking, I vape a MaxVG sweet juice so the black char will build up on the coil long before the Rayon breaks down. Usually after about 3 tanks (15ml) I have to pull the wick and dry burn/rinse the coil.

Orchid style wicking is just so easy to do. I pull the wick through, then cut it on an angle from just past the edge of the coil to the edge of the tank base. This leaves you with a little pointed end on the wick that I trim up and tuck into the juice channel. it only takes a minute or two to wick an Orchid style deck.

Working great so far. Using Rayon and it gives me better flavor than my KF4's. I had to restrict that air holes a little. It was too airy for me.
Ive tried silica too and its not that good, and has trouble keeping up. I have the V2 and its one I will not get rid of, the best 9 bucks ive spent in vaping lol.

Tried 28g Kanthal with 6 wraps and 8 wraps. Also tried 30g with 6 and 8 wraps all evenly spaced mostly with rayon for wicks (some silica). I am still trying different size coils for now. Good flavor. What does everyone else use on their RTA's with duel coils? I think my using 100% PG works differently from a mix of VG liquids that most of you use. I just like my liquids the way they are.

Nope shouldn't have to put wick in the juice channels.

You can convert the V3 to V4 easily. FT has the long gooseneck chimney (or at least they used to) so you can make the tank bigger for holding juice. I thought i only paid 13 bucks for mine, bought it around a year ago.

Orchids have the larger wicking deck, glass tube tanks dont work on them. <<<< there is very little room on the sides of the tank for the juice to flow. But I think the one piece Kayfun plastic tanks work on them interchangeably, so you dont have to putz with the three piece tanks, and worry abt sealing issues if you should have a leak.

I can produce a little more vape with the Orchid then I can my bored out Kayfuns, but not much.
