So last tuesday i ordered a blu cig starter kit. Yesterday i went to a local e-cig store and bought 15ml of Menthol eliquid.

I found these forums earlier tonight and i was reading up on the amount of drags i can get by refilling a cart with ~10 drops of my eliquid.

What my concern is if im going to actually be saving money by vaping instead of smoking..?

I smoke about a pack a day of Marlboro Smooth 100s at about 6 bucks a pack.
and say one Smooth 100 is about 12 drags give or take one so with 15 ml of eliquid how many drags or analogs would i get outta this?

thanks for the help in advance guys

It's really hard to make an equivalent to cigarettes per mL, everyone vapes differently. From what I've read, most people use about 2-4 mL per day. And you'll want to buy the liquid online, it's much cheaper I'm sure. How much did that 15mL cost you?

You can definitely save a lot of money vaping, you just have to stay away from all the shiny things to buy on the internet.

I don't know very much about the blue, and I think the amount of puffs you get will vary depending on the liquid, voltage, etc.

However a poll here shows that over 50% of the users here go through 2-3 ml of liquid per day. So depending on how much you pay for liquid and replacement parts should give you a better indication of the monthly costs.

I'm in the process of switching over from analogs to e-cigs. My monthly bill for smokes is over $200 as a 2 pack a day smoker. With juice and replacement parts, I can't see spending more than $100 a month if that. I've already cut out over a pack a day in less a week using a cheap knockoff I stumbled across at a gas station.

I'm planning on making the full switch as soon as I decide which model and vendor I am going to go with.

Hope that helps some.

I would not drip 10 drops of any juice into a Blu cart. They over flow easily I would only put about 5-6 then 2 to top it off after you put in filler. I don't know how they figured out their numbers b/c Blu says a cart is equal to a pack and it most def is not. I was a pack and a half a day smoker and I usually vape about 4-5 mls a day. IMO the savings you get are in the long run not short term. When you first start it can get semi-expensive but once you fond your groove it becomes cheaper. After you get in your groove your only really spending money every month on maintenance of your e-cig and juice.

Edit: Welcome to you both!!!

15 mil last me about a week and i vape a lot.
I started with blue but quickly went to 510 then even quicker went to ego.
i was a marlboro smoker as well.
ego with lr atty and i vape marlboro flavor in morning after meals and bed time, rest of the day i vape chocolate, and sample juices to find others i like.
Blu can only hold about 4-5 drops and you will be charging and changing alot, very little throat hit and vapor does not last but a couple of drags then need to wait for wick to get wet again.
510 better th and vapor but was still not cutting it for me but have been told it also depends on the juice.
ego much better th and vapor, with lr atty even better.
ended up sending the blu and 510 home for family members to try, since they smoked lights and ultra lights i figure it might be okay for them.
Blu does have a 30 day return policy if you want to send it back I heard they are pretty good with that. i didn't cause I thought i would still use it for stealth vaping but now after ego, i cant go back down.
I still use the ego where you cant smoke, I just exhale in a napkin so no one sees the vapor.
read the forum alot over the first 2 weeks or so, alot to learn. i hit it 2 hours a day for 2 weeks and still get on here about an hour a day.
only vaping for 4 weeks and it is such a huge diff.
after intitial investment you will spend about 30-40 bucks a month on juice, spare parts when needed. ego batts are suppose to last 3-6 months, attys 1-3 months, and its best to have spares for when they go cause there is no warning when they do. I was spending 120-150 on real cigs so i will start saving money this month.
good luck
Keep Vaping

Saving money would depend on how much you vape, how much you smoked, where you buy from, etc. For me, it may take a little longer to come out ahead, but...

Smoked ~ 1/2 pack a day at most, packs are about $6 here so ~ $3.00/day analog
Received my Blu 2.5 weeks ago and have only been going through about 1mL per day so far.
I bought both sample packs from Johnson Creek so I could try some new flavors. I know from them, you could get 90mL of juice for about $54.00 so about $0.60/oz (which is a day for me).
Between batteries and atties dying, I guess I'm anticipating maybe ~$15-$20 per month ($0.50-$0.67 per day), so I figure that totals about $1.25 per day at my current usage. Going through 2-3mL per day would bump that, of course, but I figure to be fair I'd have to compare that to smoking more like a pack or 1.5 packs a day since 1mL seems to satisfy my half pack a day urges.

I'm still happy with the Blu, but I wanted something with a) less drop-off in battery performance, b) bigger carts, and c) more vapor and TH. So...I just got in a Sidesho and 902 from Modern Vapor yesterday and am loving them both. The two kits were about $125.

So theoretically, I'm saving about $1.75 per day over analogs if you just consider juice and anticipated part costs. I've been vaping for 19 days so $33.25 saved. But I've spent $180 on start-up kits so far haha.

If I can ever get myself to stop buying the shiny new models that I read about I'll eventually pull ahead :) The money wasn't what concerned me, though, so I guess I'm not too worried about it.

I hope vaping works for you!
