I've been happily vaping for almost a year now. I've exclusively used eGo's, the standard type and the twist. I also use the Vision Stardust type clearomizers almost exclusively. While this setup has worked, and got me off of smoking cigarettes, I feel like I've outgrown the eGo setup (also getting tired of the negative wire solder point breaking when dropped/knocked over.

So here's what I got! $53.33 Vamo-Vivi Stainless Steel Voltage Adjustable E-Cigarette Battery Compartment Set - with Nitecore I2 US battery charger/charger cable/2*Panasonic CGR18650CH 18650 batteries at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Is there anything else I need that this kit doesn't contain? Extra batteries? A new type of clearomizer/tank system? I'm thinking that my Vision clearos might look funny on top of the Vamo as they are much more narrow. Thanks for your help ECF!

I believe that is the same Vamo kit that I just bought, except I got the black/gunmetal color. From what I have read, most more experienced vapers on ECF agree this kit includes a good charger and 2 quality brand 18650 batteries. If you want to use the Vamo in short mode, you'll want to get yourself some 18350 batteries for it too (just ordered some this morning as I am still waiting for my Vamo to arrive).

I am currently a Kanger T3 user, but I did order some inexpensive carto tanks (what I believe are Boge F16 and F17 replicas) for use with my Vamo as I would like to try them out. Hoping to maybe get more reliable/better flavor from them over the T3. Phil Busardo seems to really like carto tanks, so I thought I would give them a try as I generally found I do like the flavor from a carto, but certainly liked the e-liquid capacity and convenience of a Kanger T3 tank quite a bit too.

Really looking forward to getting my Vamo as I am sure you are! Here's to hoping they arrive soon!
:D

Pick up a couple 510-ego adapters. The Vamo has ego threads, but they're recessed into the drip well, so when you're unthreading an ego style clearo, you could unscrew the tank from the base instead, spilling juice. The adapter will raise it up so the ego clearo is level with the top of the vamo. You'll be able to grasp the base of the tank to remove it.

Also pick up a couple 18350s so you can go in shorty mode. If you should stack them, there's a trick though, so be aware.

While I could be mistaken (someone else who knows for certain correct me if I am wrong please) I believe you want the unprotected IMR batteries for the Vamo. Protected may work (not sure?) but I thought unprotected batteries were preferable for the Vamo as it has protection built into the electronics. I have read that flat or button tops will work, but if you're stacking 18350s, I think one type works better than others?

Yes, unprotected for the vamos, AW IMR batteries. I dont have button tops, but I dont believe you can stack button tops in the vamo. ??

I just got mine last week and i've been using all the same tanks I used on my 510. Carto, Vivi Nova, etc. I also picked up some RBA's and I like those as well. In fact I like them all because they give a different experience.

@ RodeoRat - What's the trick for stacking 18350'S?

The vamo remembers your setting for wattage if you're in VW mode. So when you're taking out a single 650 and replacing with stacked 350s, you're pulling a 3.7 v battery out and putting in 7.4V.

So when you go stacked, you should first lower your wattage way down to 4 or 5. Then do a resistance check so it knows what the head resistance is, before pressing that fire button, or you can simply change to VV mode which defaults to 3Vs when you change batteries.

When you put in stacked 350s, it'll pump some amps through your atty if you dont watch it.

Thanks all for your replies. Checked shipping, it's halfway here! Hope to have it by Friday.

So coming from the eGo setup, I take it that it isn't as simple as screwing on my e-liquid delivery system onto a battery with a button and click and vape?

I assume this is going to be a trial and failure type experiment, which I'm ok with (I work professionally with computers).

Correction: Actually I forgot I ordered some incense from New Mexico...it's almost here and it will be fun making my place smell like pinion but sadly, my Vamo is still in Hong Kong....Oh well, eGo's have done me well for almost a year, they can keep kickin it for a few weeks.

Shouldn't be a problem - you can use all sorts of things on a Vamo. I use 3.5ml vivi novas, an Aga-T+, cartos, a Phoenix RBA - I'm thinking of getting a Protank to try out. They look good on a Vamo. In fact I'd say a Protank over a smaller clearo.
You don't need to order two Vamos if you have back up pvs - I'm sure you know that tho. :) I have two but one is still going strong after 6 months - used every day too.
Some non-Vamo owners troll these threads unfortunately too.

If you are coming from an ego setup, I'd suggest it is pretty much a screw-in and vape setup. I used spinners with CE5 / EVOD / Vivi nova mini setup before I got my vamo. I pretty much screwed in the clearos and vaped the heck out of the vamo from the time the batteries were charged. Just make sure the vamo is in NO2 mode, start around 6-7-8 watts and adjust up or down from there depending on the taste you are looking for.

Im not usually a fan of clearos including the ViVi Nova but the Protank is amazing. Not only do you get the pyrex (no worries about certain juices cracking the tank) but the flavor even with high VG juices is incredible. Having the wick on the bottom eliminates wicking and flavor issues. My only complaint would be the really airy draw but there are plenty of threads on how to fix that.

I still prefer my Phiniac Carto tanks but for the money the Protank is hard to beat

What about these Kanger MT3 bottom coil clearomizer

This place is local, so I can go pick one up or have it shipped in a day. Will this work with my new gear??

Sorry I should have answered this in my previous post. I have posted about this before. My vamo fits an MT3 / EVOD on it perfectly, but I have seen others that cannot fit an MT3 on there, as they were missing the ego threads. Mine has them, I can pretty much put anything on my vamo and it works. I did get a straight-sided beauty ring for my pro-tank and that was simply because I read all the threads about the head being weak on the vamo and breaking or bending and so I screwed my pro-tank down on to the beauty ring and not the threads themselves.

Yeah, I have backups for backups for backups...hell I still have a gas station battery sitting around that will thread onto a vision clearo just in case. Zombie Apocolyse would have to happen before that one ever gets pulled out though :)
