So I ordered a smoktech SID yesterday..the and was wondering, what battery have you found to be the best performing??

Also what battery charger should I get???

This is my 1st APV.. I have used the Ego twist for almost a year and have loved it but now i wanted to take a simple step into the APV world. And with reviews and price of the SID, it seemed to be the best for me.

So any help and suggestion I would highly appreciate.. Thanks :)

The most common and popular suggestion will be for the AW IMR batteries. Both the brand and the chemical composition are well suited to mods of all sorts. Be aware that the AW brand is so popular, that there are forgeries out there that look identical, but are actually lower grade batteries in an "AW-like" wrapper.

RTD Vapor and Lighthound are good sources for genuine AW batteries. They are not the cheapest batteries, but they are the best batteries.

Find Baditude's blog on the subject of batteries here at ECF... and get a quick education. ;-)

As to chargers... the names to remember are Pila, Xtar and Nitecore. Those also can be found, for reference, at RTD Vapor... but you can find better pricing on eBay and Amazon. 4 bay Nitecore Intellichargers can be had for under $20.

I have the Smoktech SID. It's a very good mod. You won't be disappointed!

I use the Panasonic CGR18650CHs and a Nitecore Intellicharger.

Both work very well for APVs. The hybrids are great batteries with a 10 amp limit. Not good for sub-ohm'ing on a mech but great for APVs pushing 10+ watts. I can go 2-3 days with just two of them, though I charge them much less now that I have a MVP as a backup. No doubt the Sony and Samsung are great batteries as well.

The Nitecore Intellicharger is, IMO, a necessity. Well worth the money to get such a simple to use and safe-charging ...charger. The spring connectors can be a little intense though but easy to get used to, just compress and slide the battery in. You get what you pay for!

Vape well, vape often :vapor:

I recommend the XTAR-VP1 ... has many more useful features for only a little more money; (built-in volt meter, LED window that displays batt charge state, progress bar and charging rate, and can charge at 250ma, 500ma or 1amp). Also comes with a DC car adapter. There is nothing like it in this price range:

Best news, FastTech finally started carrying it for only $32... $32.89 XTAR VP1 Dual Channels Multi-Functional Li-Ion Battery Charger - US plug at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping I spent $45 for mine 3 months ago and would buy it again in a heartbeat. Will never use anything else.

I found the Nteicore Intellicharger on ebay for under $20 no tax or shipping fees. And since thats in my budget right now, i figured with 4 battery ports that would be a good deal. the person I bought from had a high rating and a business too...

Here is the ebay listing.. he has them at BIN too... If anyone is interested...

Until i get more batteries I guess I will be bouncing between my twist and SID (which i am in love with)

Thanks again for all the advice and helps stepping in the right direction.
