I've been building for a few weeks now on my Tugboat v2 and loving every minute of it.... tried all kinds of coils, single, dual, parallel builds etc.... been using the Walgreens organic cotton which has been great...

But i decided yesterday to order a roll of Drago Egyptian Cotton because i hear the flavor is excellent and also some Gplat 26g wire..... do you guys think I'm in for a significant improvement in my vaping experience? Is it very subjective? Where some people really enjoy the high grade cotton and high grade wire, and some don't?

I'm excited to try it....i didn't buy the Gplat Elite, just the standard, should i have gone with the elite?

I like using Japanese cotton pads (Koh Gen Do, Shiseido, Muri). Has no taste (after the first couple of pulls). The fibers are aligned in the same direction. It takes up very little space.

PBusardo did a review a while ago on wicking materials. Here's his writeup and video: Wick Testing

Gplat is simply expensive wire....not necessarily quality wire. Its repackaged welding wire marked up a few thousand percent. It has less resistence and its softer ....like nichrome. Lots of hype and brilliant marketing with gplat. Japanese cotton is, IMO, an improvement over regular cotton but regular cotton can be made to work as good or better. I like rayon in tanks....but its not really "better" , its just a little different. I've used all the "latest and greatest" new things for wicks and wires but I always seem to land with another plain jane kanthal cotton build.
