ordered some odd flavors, any experience with any of these?

Hope you have better luck than I just did. Took them a couple days just to process the order, then the mail took like 4 days ugh!

NOt really... Order shipped and got here in an acceptable timeframe, but they did not send the liter of vg I ordered. Awaiting customer service's response. I was charged for it, and it was marked off on the invoice, but surely wasnt there. Not impressed for a first time customer.

I just mixed up a batch at 6% -- something I rarely do, to go that high, with too many FA flavors -- but I must say, I absolutely adore this flavor at this percentage. I hadn't previously exceeded the 1-3% threshold, and more often than not I hovered around the 1%. I still don't get any custard feel (though it is obviously just mixed); but that soft, sweet citrus element is just beautiful. I don't know, I think my brain only perceives that fattiness of custard eliquids with diketones (which makes sense). However, I do like this at a higher percentage and I think I will vape on this for the rest of the night, though my blueberry banana yogurt liquid might be my final nightcap.

edit: I just saw your response (I hadn't refreshed the page). 5% is right around where I am with it. One thing I really never gave much thought to was using this as a standalone -- besides my initial testing, I hadn't done it since. Oh, and your "traditional custard" looks like a custard all right! Nice work. Rock on!

thank you :) That actually made me smile. The few people that vape in my small circle look at me like a mad scientist because I make my own juice.

I'm glad I could be the catalyst to make you revisit and rediscover a flavor. I never used to try new flavors as a stand alone mix, but I'm trying to hone my mixing skills and decided that I had to this time in order to be able to more precisely judge what will work well together..... Now if I could just start taking some halfway orderly notes.

Ha. No problemo. I am stoked I did it.

Do you use a calculator? Which one do you use if you do use one.

This time the only calculator I used is the ole noggin for the math. The only calculator I have ever usud is ejuicemeup. Its kinda a pita though in my opinion, so I've went back to the old fashioned way of doing things.

Some of the good calculators can be a booger to totally figure out (at east for me), so I suggest using e-Liquid Calculator. That is all I use for calculating my mixes (though I use ejuicemeup for their "nic combine" feature when diluting my nic). I had a hard time keeping notes when I manually wrote down recipes/notes, but that site is just so easy to use I almost can't remember (or Id almost like to forget) what it was like keeping physical journal.

so.... I thought a cardamom custard would be pretty cool... Shoulda listened to you and diluted this stuff down. I put 3 tiny drops into 22ml of a custard mix, and it totally took over.

Haven't touched the FA reggae nights as it smells just like TFA's MJ... don't have any flavors I think would mix with this well right now.

I'm completely boggled by the zen garden; don't know what that would go good in... that extremely basil taste throws me off.

FA Rose has alot of potential imo... haven't played with it much, but as a standalone I like it. Its just a little too one-note by itself. Thinking of ways to play with it. I'm gonna try out a simple rose custard this evening. Has me wanting to try FA's other floral flavors.

Black tea is another one I've not messed with yet... maybe if I can get the kids down for a nap I'll mix some up by itself and go from there.

Did I mention that I freakin love this hobby? :)

My ADV's are floral teas. The tea flavor adds just enough tannin to the florals to give them character. Right now I am sucking on my violet tea.

An extraction from violets, or a commercial flavoring? If from violets, the leaves, flowers, or both, and are they the purple or yellow flowered violets? I spent quite a bit of time as a hermit eating wild foraged foods when I lived back east, and purple violet leaves were one of my favorite boiled greens, and the flowers are just sweet enough to add a bit of pleasure for someone living primarily on foraged food. But the existing lore admonishes against consuming much of the yellow violets as they are reputed to have laxative effects. I did at one point eat a whole bunch without verifying the color of the flowers and ended up with extreme ........, so I have been careful not to eat the yellow ones since (although it could have been something else that caused it). Unfortunately, the only variety I can find growing wild out west here is the yellow flowered.

Maybe a basil/ginger tea? Dunno. Like a lot of FA flavors, dilution will be your friend. But even still, I don't have the heart to do basil.

Nope, my violet is TFA violet candy. I might try an extraction this spring, though. I wanted to try a nasturtium extraction last summer, as I grow some every year-- would be an imitation of the peppery taste of nic.

I'm guessing violet candy uses the flowers, so it will take some time to pick enough, but they do have a wonderful, delicate flavor.

Nasturtiums; I have eaten and enjoyed the flowers and the seeds, tried the leaves but they were not so yummy. I'm curious how the well peppery quality would survive the extraction process, and how long it would remain potent in an e-liquid. I'm guessing the flowers would give a more mild, aromatic flavor than the seeds, which are quite potent. And you may know this, but btw, ants love nasturtium flowers for the nectar, so you may need to chase some out before extraction if you use the flowers. Ants are pretty high in formic acid which would probably not be a good contribution. Yes, I have even tried eating raw ants, which my stomach quickly and roundly rejected. I hear that cooking neutralizes the acid, but after my first experiment I have not had much appetite for ants.
