Where to start..

It seems like forever ago that I got an njoy starter kit as a gag gift from my wife. That same day, I knew I was using something that was going to be special. Hours went by...no cigs.

We all know how that goes!

You get that gas station special- have some success with it..and then it stops working. Which equals desperate web searches..

Enter ECF.

See, back then (as some others here can tell you) you had only a handful of devices to choose from. Their performance was awful. Even if you tinkered with it, it was a pretty painful experience. Freakin 10$ atty's being DOA lol. That'll make ya mad.

Even the newer stuff that people were coming out with in their garages were still held back by the delivery systems. You really had to be a trooper to keep with it. These folks though, the ones that got tired of what we had and got in their garages..man, we owe a lot to you guys. vaping wouldn't be what it is today without you mod types. For several years I would drop by and read about new projects\ideas. Ya'll are amazing. So a big thanks to all of you.

Through the last 4 years, my devices have gone from small to large (big enough to defend myself with), to medium sized wood boxes, back to cig a likes then to egos..some large styles again and finally to these ego style VV's I've been on for a year or so. Quite a few devices are still around the house. It's funny to see them now and remember when it was stuck to my face all day every day and the bag O junk I toted around "just in case".

So. I've worked my way down to 4mg. There really wasn't anything to it. Even for a hardcore 3 + year 24mg guy..it just wasn't hard at all. So my next order will be one more bottle of 4mg, and the rest 0. After that, I'm planning on hanging it up. I'm ready to be done, but not fully ready to just quit. I hear lots of folks saying they'll never quit vaping, and that's fine. I'm just looking forward to just being able to- be..if that makes any sense lol.

The people I've met here are great. My OUTSIDE! clan especially. The hours I've spent at work looking busy while arguing with you guys..:glare:

I like to check the threads in the OUTSIDE! just like it's the news..everyday. So I doubt I'll be dropping out of ECF anytime soon, even if I'm vape free. But I do see my participation slowing way down in the near future.

To all the MODS behind the scenes, a big thanks to ya'll too. Very few people here know what all goes into making ECF tick the way it does (hint: it's not all fun and games)

Sorry for the book.

0mg, here I come!

Congratulations! Thanks for letting us know about your journey to zero nicotine.

I was using 2ml of 15mg juice per day when I had to go to zero nicotine for a month. I broke a leg and had surgery. That was early in October. Like you I found that it was easy to go to zero nicotine. The pharmaceutical grade nicotine that we vape is much easier to quit than tobacco tar.

I'm not ready to quit all nicotine just yet but when I do I know it isn't going to be all that hard to do.

Good luck and I hope you stick around even if you quit completely. I would also like to ween my way down on the nicotine but at this point I don't really see myself quitting vaping completely.

I hear ya

I guess if anyone takes anything from my experience, I'd like it to be that moving down on the nic really isn't that hard. I think the hardest part is hitting the add to cart button while ordering lol

And maybe this too: Don't order stuff for people. I mean, sure, get them started and all. But after that, sink or swim time. I never had one person make the switch that wouldn't get online and read up about what it is they wanted.

I've got quite the group going here after 4 years. Dozens probably.

I pray you and your ability to speak for ECF and all of us (your thousands of friends)
in this forum will never come to and end. As you would be greatly missed.

Yes indeed, huge thanks to all those that led the way forward.

Nearly everything we enjoy to today started with the experimentation and innovation of the electronic cigarette user community
And then the Chinese followed.

Big battery mods, bottom feeders, drip tips, clearomizers, genesis atomizers, tanks, rebuildable atomizers, variable voltage, variable wattage.
As far as I know all of these concepts were born and raised by everyday vapers who were looking to making vaping better.

Thank you for sharing your story... I have a little over 100 days analog free and I started with 12/16/18 mg and stopped finally at 24 mg and somedays I wonder if I am actually doing this 'right'... It has got me to quit smoking, so it US right. Now I know kicking down the 24mg WILL be possible as ling as I WANT to ween myself. ECF (its people) are amazing!
Congrats!!! I hope we run into each other again :)

I quit analogs and started vaping on 11/1/13. I started with 18mg, and went right to 12mg in week 2. I have 2 bottles of 6mg at home.

But I have been vaping 0mg for 2 days. Today is day #3. It has been much easier that I thought it would have been.

I think everyone should get some 0mg nic juice and try to go a day or two vaping it exclusively. If you have a hard time with it, just vape some juice with nic to get through it. Vaping can still be very enjoyable without nic. You still get the clouds, some of the throat hit (which I don't care about), and the flavor. The idea is to break the addiction, right? Play with it.
