As I see it, folks get illegal, or nearly illegal things from Asia on a daily basis. I've certainly ordered some questionable items and they've gotten through with few problems. Go check out all the online pharmacy sites that are out there. Or even the sites who will ship you Cuban cigars. Yeah, customs will seize some of it, but most gets through.

It wouldn't surprise me to see juice relabeled as incense or some such nonsense to get around the laws. Other companies have done similar things to get around customs. There's a certain product right now that used to be sold in head shops as "incense" and now goes under the guise of "facial scrub".

Will an FDA ban make it annoying to get parts and juice? Absolutely. Will it make it impossible, or even exceedingly difficult? I really doubt it. Worst case is we have to keep our orders in a month or so ahead to deal with the customs issues.

Just my opinion.

If you want to know what ordering from China (or Europe, or wherever) will look like if the FDA decides to...whatever it is you think they'll do...look into online forums where people discuss ordering prescription drugs from online pharmacies based in Canada, India, and other places.

I did this (looked into it, that is--not actually ordering anything) a year or two ago. I got the impression that generally most packages get through. A small number go missing or have sugar pills instead of real medicine. A slightly larger number get caught by customs. The recipient receives a letter telling them that their package has been seized in accordance with such-and-such statute and they have some number of days to appeal the decision (or produce certain documentation). And that's it.

I am not a lawyer, LEO, or fortune teller but my best guess is that the situation would be even rosier for ordering e-cigs and supplies. If you look at eBay, you'll see there are gobs and gobs of people ordering computer parts and small electrical goods from China just to save $5. There's an ocean of packages to get lost in.

If I can get/develop a tobacco extact that tastes good with a nicotine content that works, well, I live in a state that GROWS tobacco, so with a backyard and some gardening skills, I should be able to get a (fresh) supply without paying all those absurd taxes that are making it too freakin expensive to do analog. Of course, the Phillip Morris factory in my town is closing down.
