All of the organic cotton I've seen is whitened with Hydrogen Peroxide
I don't boil my organic cotton or anything else
If it needs to be boiled, I don't use it

so you think the hydrogen peroxide is ok to vape then? When I bought my kfun, the dude at the store wicked it for me with his own cotton and it didnt make me feel uneasy. I wish I knew what kind it was.

Anyone else get a real uneasy feeling after using Organic Cotton from Walgreens as their wicking system? I noticed on the bag it says whitened with Hydrogen Peroxide. I think that must be making me feel "weird". Would boiling it help or should I just play it safe and go back for the Sterile Cotton?

All white cotton is whitened with either bleach or hydrogen peroxide, whether it's t-shirts, gauze pads, or whatever. I personally have used the Org Cotton from Walgreens, and it had a faint peroxide taste to it. I boiled the whole bag for 45 minutes to an hour, and let it dry for 2 days. The water I used was pretty peroxidey afterward, so much so that I could smell it as it was boiling. Used the cotton again, and no bad tastes - perfect. :)

I should note that not everyone will notice the faint peroxide taste. It depends on the strength and flavor of the juice you're using, your power output, the sensitivity of your senses of smell/taste, and other things. Whether it's 'safe' or not to use unboiled cotton as wicking is a debate I'll leave to someone else.

I use it and dont taste any peroxide, a lot of times the mind can perceive something is there because it is written on the bag, knowwhatimean?

I would bet the bank in a blind taste test there is not a single person on this earth that could tell the difference. This is just a bunch of hypochondriac crap.

Because not wanting a peroxide taste in my vape totally makes me a hypochondriac...

What works for you won't necessarily work for someone else. Putting down another persons methods is both petty and biased.

I was never a heavy smoker, and have always had a superior sense of smell and taste. When I boil my cotton, there is a definite smell and taste of peroxide in the rising steam and water. (Yes I tasted it, I was curious.) Doesn't mean it's harmful, but I definitely notice the flavor. If I choose to boil that annoying taste out of my wicking before I use it, that's my prerogative.

Same - Studio 35 Beauty organic cotton balls - no boiling necessary. Hydrogen Peroxide isn't necessarily harmful last time I checked. Alot of people use it to whiten teeth. The regular cotton balls are bleached with chlorine. Probably not the safest thing to do without boiling, but I've never tried it. Nor would I want to try it. My understanding is this:

Hydrogen Peroxide - safe in low concentrations.
Chlorine - absolutely dangerous, even in low concentrations.

If you want to avoid any type of additives, there are Japanese-made cotton products that are free of hydrogen peroxide (or any other type of additives). For example: Amazon.com: Koh Gen Do Pure Cotton - 60 Pads: Beauty

It's probably cheaper someplace other than Amazon, but that's the first site that came up in a search.
