Okay guys I have a couple things I want to ask and talk about.

Now I have a protank 2. I just swapped out the silica for organic cotton for the first time (kept the coils the same). I'm actually pretty happy because the wicking was perfect. No gurgling and it's firing no dry hits.

First thing: I didn't boil the organic cotton just took it right out of the bag and wicked with it.

Should I boil the cotton or would I be safe just using it straight out of the bag?

Second thing: not really a question but more an observation... Holy crap is the flavor way different. I mean the flavor with the cotton is far better than the flavor on my nautilus mini.

I just did the same with my Protank II. I didn't boil anything. As a matter of fact, it wasn't even organic. Just said "100% pure cotton". Good enough for me.

I just got done smoking a PAD for 25, and I'm not going to start worrying about what never bothered me before. However, that is me.

Cotton really does bring these tanks alive.

I think it tastes better thank silica for sure. The only reason i asked was because I just heard everyone saying they boil their cotton and whatnot.

I mean I really don't feel like going through all that.

And one more thing with the cotton is you can vape at higher wattages than you can with silica.

I don't boil anything but stuff like broccoli and carrots and cabbages, and stuff like that.

My opinion is if it's safe enough to dress an open wound with, it's safe enough to vape with.

Yes, there may be pesticides and whatnot, but there likely is in the aforementioned vegetables, too. ;)

Lmao but we ain't inhaling the veggies ;). No I get what you're saying. Nicotine actually is a pesticide.

The purer flavor comes from better wicking with cotton. There are so many contrary opinions here, and they all are right! Because it is what works for them. I used cotton and it is good. I've boiled it and not boiled it, no difference. The whole point is it is all a journey, many things will work. And work well. At some point, you just say, I am fine with this and because I am no longer inhaling the many, many chemicals in cigs, I can use this. I'd stuck with cotton for many months. And was happy. I am going to try some ceramic wick, because it can last and last. And I am tired of changing wicks all the time. That is my journey.

Now that you've discovered cotton, it's time to kick it up a notch.

Try rayon (cellucotton) and Japanese organic cotton. Oh ya!

What they said.

Also, remember you're not marrying the stuff. It may be worth your while to try a bunch of different things. Try boiling it, not boiling it, see for yourself if there is a difference.
