sterile;
1) infertile
or
2) containing no living organisms

sterile does not mean free from chemicals.

organic does not mean free from harmful substances. DDT for example, is an organic toxin used heavily as pest control before it was banned.

h202 (hydrogen peroxide) breaks down to h20 and 02 when exposed to water within a minute. if peroxide was the bleaching agent used for cotton, boiling wouldn't make a difference and nearly nobody would notice a difference between simply wetting it for a minute and boiling let alone boiling once vs. thrice.

i've done organic. i've done sterile. i've boiled. i've not boiled. let me tell you. not only does koh gen do wick much better and it's easier to work with... but until i used koh gen do, i didn't notice the taste the other cottons were imparting on my vapor. it's night and day. you'll be a believer once you make the switch.

Ive been using White Cloud cotton ball or Peaches and Cream yarn. I do not boil either, and the White Cloud has a lot of flavor for the first short period, but then works amazing. The Peaches and Cream has very little flavor at first which also goes away. Ive tried other cotton balls and those are the products ive had the best luck with

I boil. Why? The thought of an open package of P&C yarn sitting on the shelves made me. Who knows where peoples hands have been. Better yet who knows how many rats have climbed all over it.

Bummer.
