excellent reviews 4thpower and jizzles. gracias.
is the center post adjustable?
jizzles- i noticed that too about tapatalk. my images used to be bright and beautiful but now with the updated version, they took a huge crap on our photos :(

Nice! I put mine through the ultrasonic cleaner so need to wait a bit. The combo looks good!

Before I put in for cleaning I took some quick pics...

*edit*
Wow...tapatalk app really compresses and changes the image size. The pics look terrible.

Jizzles - re: using it for single coil operation (and I know you have the clone and I have the real one, but in principle it should be the same).

If you want to do the horizontal single coil (or dual horizontal for that matter) it will be easier to line up the coil where you want it if you twist the center pin slightly so that the eyelet in the center of the pin is not lined up directly with the allen screws / neg connection. So on mine, I removed the knurled 'nuts' off of the center post, turned it slightly, and then put that bottom knurled 'nut' back on to secure it in place. That way the leg going to that eyelet is not trying to cross over the coil to go straight up (as much).

Daytime shot. Note that the coil is actually NOT touching the center post even though it looks like it is. Also counted - 25 drops from dry to full (full as seen here):

Figured a picture would say it all :)
And if it doesn't - 30g, 9 wraps or so, 2.2 ohms, each side of the cotton wick going into and lining the bottom of each well. I did try a vertical coil & dual vertical coils, but I like the flav / vape / performance from this setup the best.

looks nice. does your origen leak when filled that much?

Ha - that was a little overfilled :)
I have to admit, I'm not sure if it would or not. First off, I wouldn't be carrying it around that full in a pocket or something like that. That's a fill before some chain vaping. After a few minutes, that level would be down by a 1/3d or so and I'd feel comfortable carrying it around without too much worry although I certainly wouldn't want to have it rolling around horizontally all over a desk. Honestly, I've only walked around with it in my back pocket when it's been 1/2 full or less, and no leaking in those situations. I'm using the smallest air hole, and only one air hole at that, so that probably contributes to it being leak free as well.

Actually that's another con. I don't think the center post is adjustable or at least I couldn't get it off.

thanks. thats good to know. im glad you let us know that 1/2 full isnt likely to leak. that would have been my follow-up question. :)

Looking good. Though I run my Origen in dual mode a lot, not being able to close off one of the holes for single coil mode for the clone is a deal breaker for me. Glad I didn't jump on it. Can anyone comment on the "tightness" of the top to the base once the o-rings get a little wet with e-liquid? I find it troublesome on the original.

I couldn't get mine loose. I thought maybe it was screwed into the delrin(?) insulator - I used a needle and stuck it through the wire trap hole and bend the sh* out of my needle. It wouldn't budge.

@Ben C. - thanks for putting the horizontal coil into my head.
I had to try it out even without being able to move the center post to line up the holes.
It was not easy with the holes being on the side. Even trying to tighten up the negative screw was a PITA with the coil right above.
But it vapes beautifully - excellent flavor. Albeit, I did drop down to 0.4 ohms - which may have helped.
I will vape it this way until I have to change the coils. But next time I'm gonna go back to vertical coils and the same resistance to see if that was the difference in flavor. If not, I'll be sweatin it for 1/2 hour building horizontal coils again - cuz it's delicious :)
