You beat me to it... :ohmy: LOL!!

I was just gonna post a pic of the 1st computer I worked with... the IBM 360/70:

This looks almost exactly like our computer room back then,
except for the bank of HUGE disc drives that would have been off-screen to the left...​

We had a mod 50.
We actually had a dumb terminal and used the hard copy mainly as a backup and for the syslog. The tape drives in the pics look like manual loaders - we had a few of those but mostly auto load. Did you ever get to smell burnt disk after a DASD crash?

Yes, they were manual... and no, I never had the pleasure of experiencing that smell... :p LOL!!
(we had a tape library of over 5,000 tapes, and when we got new ones in, I had to manually put the BOF/EOF markers on each one manually, too)

And speaking of manual, these are what I learned on in school... the good old 'unit record equipment'!!
Thank goodness we didn't have to actually do that on the job... :facepalm:
