In addition to being the architect/administrator of our entertainment database (I should say databases--plural--since the team that I worked with moved through multiple companies: sometimes through acquisition and sometimes through competitive hiring), I was also an editor: I watched videos and wrote synopses and reviews. One of the companies for which we worked had a well-respected line of publications in music and decided to launch a new magazine to correspond with the launch of the DVD format. We provided the stories (I have two stories in the issue shown here).

Next, while still in college, I worked at the Sonoma Film Institute.
This was a cool job. After collecting patron's money, I got to watch critically acclaimined classic and foreign films for free!

While my roles with the video team meant that I got paid to watch movies, we also had to cover everything that came out on video: kidvid, cooking videos, exercise videos, bead-making and sewing videos (I kid you not!), and...., err, less wholesome entertainment...

#2 - Worked here several years ago...a steel pipe manufacturer that makes pipes for the gas and oil industry...started out in purchasing and ended up running the tool room...much preferred working out in the plant to the front office....I still have my hot pink hardhat!

For over a decade, I had a shop called Snyegurochka (The Snow Maiden). I sold authentic Russian handcrafts here in Maine, which were sent by a friend in Moscow. She got them from the crafts people there.
It was back in the days when we had to send items and money with business people.
