A 1976 VW Rabbit. Like this one, but painted a pleasing hue of traffic-cone orange and also with a great deal more rust.

Not an Entry (I won the last one...) But I can't resist posting my first car.

It was well used when I took ownership. They build tanks these days that weigh less than my Merc' did. Had a huge V-8 engine and gas tank to go along, but gas was 27 cents a gallon. The seats were actually wide enough to seat three adults comfortably. Had to let it go after I made a panic stop that threw the brake drums out of round and replacements were far more expensive that it's book value.

First care I drove regularly. I did not own it, but the owner owed me money for work done to it, and allowed me to drive it the first summer, I was licensed.



First car I owned, was my shaggin wagon. A 76 Ford Pinto.

Lumina! I actually loved that car. Top speed on the highway was 143, and then I got my first ticket. Was a solid car though, only had to replace the fuel filter and a muffler that rusted off.
