Home or folk remedies

If your clumsy like I am and burn yourself, cover with yellow mustard.

I remember learning this working at a restaurant and always use it on burns now. I don't know if necessarily heals it but it instantly cools your burn and makes it feel immensely better. I swear by this! I think it even feel better then running it under ice water. Sometimes I'll even just add mustard under a bandaid, it helps when I'm cooking.

My Mother used this on us kids when we had the hiccups. Start at the beginning and say each letter out loud. What ever letter you hiccup on, that is the first letter of the name of someone who is thinking of you. May not be a scientific remedy, but it sometimes helped us forget about the hiccups because we were so busy thinking about who was thinking about us .

My mother used this on me when I stepped on a bee one Summer. It got infected and I had a red streak running from the sting up my lower leg. She called it blood poisoning. She applied a poultice of baking soda mixed into a paste with water liberally onto a clean cloth and applied the pasty part directly to the wound. Said it helped draw out the infection...and it did! But my brothers were still mad at me because we didn't get to go to the water park that day.

Flea killer.
Salt is your cheapest, best friend! Salt is an effective flea treatment as it will kill the flea's eggs by drying them out. Use a fin-grained salt as the finer it is, the easier it is for the salt to attach to the flea. Sprinkle the salt over your furniture, affected carpet areas and bedding areas. Leave for 2-3 days then vacuum thoroughly. When done, throw your vacuum bag away inside an airtight trash bag. Repeat weekly until the fleas are gone.

When your with someone who has hiccups, say 'can you hiccup for me one more time?' Keep doing this, by the 5-6 time their hiccups should be gone. I always try so hard to hiccup when he does this, that they just magically disappear.

My boyfriend'mom used to do this to him when he was little. It works so well.

For hiccups: expel all the air from lungs (I mean every last bit) and inhale as much air as you can, hold breath as long as you comfortably can. Exhale and hold breath again. Hiccups gone.

This is what I do whenever I'm alone or don't feel like playing the 'hiccup for me' game with boyfriend [emoji5]. Works like a charm every time thankfully, I hate having hiccups!
