So...I've never been one to drink enough water....so I've been looking for ways to drink more water. I decided to purchase some MIO this week (berry pomegranite flavor) and add it to my water....man this stuff is good. I looked at the ingredients and saw propylene glycol ... I'm wondering if this is going to defeat the purpose of drinking the water....

I agree with heat and flavor drinks. When we were in the army, lemon juice seems to taste so sweet. Same goes to pocari sweat. If we were out of the heat, we simply down normal water, better in the long run.

Now that I'm out of it, I prefer juices like watermelon while I'm vaping. One Litre to one session of vaping. Should be alright!

I've been using Mio longer than I've been using a PV...It will still help hydrate you Maureen, no worries there. When I quit drinking Mt Dew, I decided to force myself to drink more water. There are a few bottled waters I don't mind (the ones enhanced with minerals) but some of them are worse than tap water. And tap water just sucks. The Mio has helped increase my water intake by quite a bit. The only thing I don't like in it is the sucralose. Sucralose and aspertame don't always agree with my system, but fortunately I only need maybe half a squirt of Mio per bottle, so I'm not taking in that much.

One other thing you can try is steeping fruit in water. It's all natural, less sweet, and none of the artificial taste: Fruit Water I did this for a little while, and it does work. It's just more of a p.i.t.a. than I was willing to keep up with. But I have recently seen larger counter-top style water dispensers that look interesting...I might have to try some of these:

Unfortunately I'm not a lemon or lime kind of girl....I just don't care for it....I used to put equal in my water, but had the same concern....

Now now SC....I already drink PLENTY of beer, but that dehydrates me too....it's called a hangover....

Equal, Sweet & Low, and Splenda are so unhealthy. That's why we switched to Stevia (it's not artificial). Do you liked iced tea? I made a gallon of sun tea last week and finished it a little over a day. I wish it would get sunny again; at least for four hours so I can make more tea.

I love iced tea, but tea dehydrates too....

I require at least three bottles of tea for a volleyball tournament....to go with the water and powerade. My mom makes tea with equal too and it's really good, but doesn't hydrate enough for a day of doubles out in the sun....especially since it's been in the high 90's around here for most of the last month.

I didn't know that tea dehydrates a person! Is it because of the caffeine?

Please try to make your mom stop using equal. Buy her a box of Stevia. :)

Since tea is 99.9% water, Ive never been too worried about getting dehydrated from it, although I have always known that drinking it causes me to have to go to the bathroom more often. But to be honest I've never looked at that as a negative - as long as you're drinking enough, the water is just flushing toxins out of your body right? I was curious though so I googled "does tea dehydrate" and found several differing opinions. I can't say this is the absolute correct answer, but I tend to agree with this opinion:

According to Balz Frei, Ph.D., director of the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University, moderate amounts of caffeine --- up to 500 mg per day --- do not cause dehydration. The liquid content of tea compensates for the diuretic effect of the caffeine.
