OT: Live video podcasts?

I'm toying with the idea of doing a regular live video podcast, a viewer call-in kind of show. I figure I'm surrounded by computers and cameras anyway, I love to talk about e-cigs and anything else, so maybe I should just turn them on once in a while.

But I have to admit I don't know much about HOW to do it. What platform, what webcasting software, etc? Are there hardware upgrades I need? I'm pretty sure I have the tools, I just don't know how to use them.

I know there are a couple of E-cig webcasting networks, elixirTV and another one I am forgetting off the top of my head. I might end up joining them, but first I want to figure out how to do all this.

Any suggestions?

I'm seriously giving this some thought. I'm playing around now with Ustream and Stickam, and thinking about format and so on.

hey if you do get things sorted I think the first podcast should be "What nicotine level is best for you"

I'd say Stickam... There's a couple people that do live shows on there already for ecigs, and you are able to save the live casts you do so people are still able to view them after you've gone offline.
