The kittens were born in my garage..left to us by a stray mama cat who took off! We had just gotten Sheba at a year old from a couple who tried raising her in an apt. with two little kids! I can tell you shepard puppies are a handful!
They get along just fine, Sheba thinks they are her puppies and they just adore her..Scotty follows her everywhere but Dottie is more independant..unless she gets worried and then she stands under Sheba.

I love animals. I've spent a lot of time around animals, mostly dogs, cats, horses, some farm critters on my aunt's farm, I've loved them all, I have a choc lab now; but there's something about that picture of Sheba sleeping with her two kitty friends that touched my heart. You need to get her a bigger bed:D.

I'll jump in on this... in the order we aquired them

14 year old Jack Russell Terrier named TJ, got him when he was 6 months old from the pound. Owner showed up 3 weeks later and wanted him back and the pound left it up to us. We said no way, if it took him 3 weeks to even check the pound for his lost dog he didn't deserve him. Smallest dog we have and he is the alpha dog, keeps those big dogs right in line.

7 year Pitt/Doberman mix name Majik. Daughter went to look at a horse to buy and spotted a box with 2 half dead puppies in it. The guy told her that the neighbor's doberman had jumped the fence and got the mama pitt pregnant. As far as he was concerned the puppies were worthless and were left to die. 2 had already died. She came home in tears and I stormed out to that place and took those puppies then turned the guy into the cops. The female died within a few hours of us getting them home but we kept the boy alive and albeit he gave me scabies, he's all my baby. Everybody that sees him is scared to death of him though LOL.

6 year old trio of male cats Hocus & Pocus are twin orange tabbies and their brother Shadow is a black and grey tabby. We got them when they were 6 weeks old from the pound.

5 year old, only female we have, 110 pound Golden Retriever named O'Leigh. She IS the princess. Someone gave her as a puppy to the 85 year old lady down the street that wasn't able to take care of her so we took her. We THOUGHT she was a cocker spaniel puppy. Were we in for a surprise LOL The cats raised her so she thinks she's a cat.

and our most recent baby, we have had him for a year now. 7 year old Blue Doberman named Dobie Grey (after the singer). He belonged to our next door neighbors. We share a backyard chain link fence so we had watched him grow up from a puppy and even took care of him when they went on vacation each year. They had to move and could not take him. He was unfixed at the time and had a bit of an attitude towards stranger. The pound said they wouldn't even try to adopt him out and would put him down immediately. So we took him. First thing we did was have him fixed. We had a rough couple first months getting all the dogs to get along and for him to accept us as his new owners, but we survived and are one happy family now.

Oh forgot to add that our 21 year old daughter is in college studying to be a vet! We sure need it

The old man. 16 yr old Siamese cat, Jake. Cool cat, but getting old and has ruined all my carpet since he can't always hold his food down.

The old girl Wrin, she's like 13. Part Siamese and something else. She's the "porch cat" because she insists on destroying our furniture. Comes in when it's to cold etc.

Evo, named after the HD motor, is a 3 yr old Yorkie my wife aquired for me to go riding on my bike with. He freaks on the bike and gets car sick. O well. He is a fetching machine. Loves to play ball and drink my beer chilling on the front porch in nice weather. Great house dog, but keeping him groomed is a PITA.

Jukebox, 2 year old Pit Bull rescue. We lost our German Shephard to bloat and we had room so we decided to adopt. This guy is just great. Tolerant of the cats, good with the little dog, and just loves people. He is so well behaved. The resue org. we got him from did a wonderful job to help make him adoptable.

Chickens. they were great when laying eggs...

My son left his Carpet Python "Fuzzy Slippers" here when he left. I built her a new enclosure. I am OK with her, but my younger son saw the older get bit once and is scared of her. She is not handled enough because of this. She has water, food, clean living... just not enough handling. If anyone wants a nice snake, let me know :)

I have 3 Poms

Tia 9 1/2Lb 7 years old eating machine, never met food that she didn't love. We call her our land shark. Such a love. She thinks people were put here to pet and love her.

Kayli 3Lbs 7 years old and proud of it. She tries so hard to have an attitude but the other dogs just laugh at her. It's tough being small. She was .6lb when we got her.

Meesha (my avatar) 5Lbs and almost 2 years old. The sweetest thing in the world but not a brain cell any where in her body . My DH calls her a loon.

I used to breed Lhasa Apsos lost my last one 2 1/2 years ago.

Ohhhh I love that face on Boomer! Is your cat inside with the ferret? I want a ferret so bad, but I have 3 hell kitties and I'm afraid they'd kill it. Somebody told me the ferret could take care of itself, but it worries me so I've never gotten one.

Oh boomer has the "Please pet me" or the "I didn't do it" face down pat for sure lol
Our cat is what we call our Down Syndrome Kitty...he died for approx 15 while being fixed and my wife (The vet tech during surgery) gave him cpr the whole time and brought him back..so he isn't all together "There"...he's more like a bored dog then a cat lol
So he doesn't pay much mind to anything and its not easy to get him upset.
I built a huge home for the ferret, it was a dog kennel about 4 tall and 3ft wide by 3ft deep..it has 2 levels and a flex tube that swirls around it she can climb through..she spend most of her time in there.
When we do let her out (Daily) for some exercise we keep the dogs at bay and the cat just doesn't care lol
The dogs are good, but we just want to avoid anything happening with them getting too excited and having an accident.
I would suppose if they were raised together much like mary kays dog and cats, they could be friends, but in reality if our cat wanted to Im sure the ferret wouldnt last long :)

Thanks Philly... I will pass on getting one and will just have to settle for playing with them at the pet store.
