I love a good steak and anything off of the loin is great, bone in just adds tons of more flavor.

However, all things aside there is nothing better that a filet mignon. I know it sounds all hauthty taughty. However, it is still the most tender cut period. You barely have to cook it.

I agree the filet is tender, but I think rib eye has tons more flavor. That's why filets usually have a sauce on em ;)

I agree filets are tasty, but you get a rib-eye with some nice marbling, and I don't think the flavor can be beat

You can invite me over anytime. How about this, I'll bring the beer and some fresh morel mushrooms and we can sit around and get fat? How about I toss in a venison back strap, marinated and wraped in onions?

Sauce on a steak, never.:evil::evil::evil:

Ribeye, nearly charred on the outside, nearly raw in the middle. And a big slab of raw onion on the side.
Or a good filet mignon, similarly rare, but with garlic stuffed into little slits all thru and a mushrooms sauteed in port wine and butter on top.
Or really good tartare, which is hard to find any more.
Tibetan Buddhists eat meat; it's hard to grow veggies on ice and rock. Glad I started with them. Om Mani Padme Hum, I'm sorry, thank you, yum, happy.

we have raised our own beef here on the farm for the last few years and I don't think there is a bad cut of steak when its farm fresh!!! With that being said, the bone in ribeye is FANTASTIC !!! and if you have to put sauce on it, IT AIN'T BEEN GRILLED RIGHT!!! imho.
p.s. ribeye and fresh eggs for breakfast can't be beat
