I usually have an ecig in each hand at night in front of the tube. Last night I felt a burning sensation and my Riva 510 was red hot. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed some dish towels and started separating the cone and atty from the battery. The cone was even scorching. It looks like the atty burned up and dumped its contents. The liquid was black and smelled roasted. After letting it cool I metered the atty. Zero ohms as to be expected. I plugged the Riva into a charger where I could see it and let it charge. It was about six hours later before the light turned green. I noticed the button did not light up when pressed. Curious I reassembled the Riva with a wet atty. The atty started to fire as soon as contact was made. Well needless to say the Riva went to the trash can.
So did the atty short and take out the battery or did the switch on the battery cause the damage. What's your take? It sure scared the hell out of me.
