I guess I'll reply again since you all didn't seem to read the title or the original post. What I was talking about was I accidentally only put the very tip of the cart against my lips rather than in my mouth. So little of it was in my mouth that the vapor hit my lip instead of going back into the center of my mouth.

Hardware had nothing to do with it. No matter what you use, if you shoot steam at you lip it is going to burn. LOL

You learned like I did not to do that...LOL. I still have a bad habit of it and it's been over a year for me. You would think by now I would know better but I held cigs in my lips the same way...just an old habit that's hard to break.
