I'm vapin 12mg and I'm curious if it's possible to take in too much nicotine while vaping regularly throughout the day. I've only had my setup for a few hours and I've been vaping nonstop. I don't know if I should drop to 6mg just for the fact that I'll probably continue vaping nonstop. Any thoughts on this would much appreciated
Generally, at 12mg, you'd probably have to drink your juice to get "too much" nic.
Listen to your body. Too high a nic level will do things like give you headaches or nausea. When I was getting started and figuring things out, I sometimes gave myself a kind of "jittery" thing like too much coffee. Or, one week, couldn't get to sleep until around three in the freaking morning. Didn't feel bad, I was just wide awake, not sleepy at all.
The absorption of the nicotine is different between smoking and vaping. In smoking, it's mostly in the lungs and absorbed fast (I've read the nic can reach your brain in around ten seconds). In vaping, it's slower and mostly in the mouth and nasal passages (especially if you do a nasal exhale).
As smokers, we all got used to keeping some amount of nic circulating in our blood streams. Switching the way you get your nic throws off all your "habits" at first. From all the reading of posts here and my own experience, I think just about every new vaper "chain vapes". You're trying to hit your personal nicotine level but haven't yet built up new habits and inhale technique (my vape inhale is very different from my old smoking inhale).
So pay attention to how you
feel. Too much nic causes physical symptoms. I read a post today from a new vaper who mentioned heart palpitations. Yeah, cut your nic level. Immediately if not yesterday.
But some of us just like vaping. I cut my nic level back by half some time ago so I could keeping vaping all I wanted. Which is quite a bit. I use 5 to 7ml of juice a day these days. I can burn a little 5ml sample in a day easy. I cut my nic so I could do that and not stay awake half the night.
Not a lot of "hard and fast" rules in vaping. You have to experiment and find what works for you. "Too much" for one can be "not even close to enough" for another. The only "too much" I'm sure of is any number of cigarettes more than zero.
