Hey guys and gals. I have been out of the game for a while using Kanger Subtanks. Used Kayfuns and Lemos in the past. Got burned out on rebuilding and went back to simplicity. Well after two boxes of duds I am ready to go back to rebuilding. Been using the rba of the Subtank but know I can do better.

One non-negotiable requirement is no screw for filling. Whether it's screw the whole base off and fill from the bottom or top fill I don't care, just no removing a tiny screw to fill it.

Other than that I am pretty open. I would prefer something on the easier side of building as I don't want to sink a ton of time into it. It seems about all are dual coil designs so I am willing to give in to at least that point. I would like something relatively easy to wick, had issues with the Lemo leaking with finicky wicking.

Other than that pretty open. I would highly prefer a smaller nano or drop version of something. This isn't a deal breaker but highly desired.

Usage wise I am a cool vapor. Almost all of my juices have either mint or anise with a few menthol around too. I a few custards as well. Meaning I don't do a real warm or hot vape so if needs 80 watts to work right it's not for me. With the subtank it's usually 15-20W with the airflow wide open with my current 1ohm macro coil(I like airflow, the two holes are to restrictive I have to have the subtank on max open), any higher it just tastes burnt which may be a side effect of the tank itself. I am into flavor and don't care much at all about clouds, want vapor but don't have a need to fill my car where I can't see going down the road. (No judging cloud chasers, just not my thing.) My juices are 95% 60VG/40PG.

Bonus points if it is available in black but again not a deal breaker.

Been looking a little and the Aromamizer looks nice and Billow V2 Nano is another I have seen that seems to fit the list.

Sorry for the long post but just wanted to give you plenty of info to go by instead of a general what's the best rta post.

Thanks a ton!

I have an aromamizer and a billow v2. Both are great tanks, but the aromamizer has put the billow on the sidelines since it NEVER leaks. I had issues in the past with my billow falling over in my pocket and flooding the AFC area with juice, but the aromamizer is great. I even rode roller coasters with it, it's also 100x easier to wick than the billow. So, I would highly recommend the aromamizer.

After I began wicking the billow with rayon, it never leaked again. I hope my aromamizer gets here soon though :(

Well it certainly sounds like the Aromamizer Mini is the way to go.

I don't get along with Rayon. I have a giant box of it but it gives me a funny after taste. Been using Walgreens Organic Cotton and started recently using Japanese Organic cotton. May give Rayon another go just to see.

I find that Rayon initially has a bit of a taste, but it doesn't take vaping long on it before the taste passes. I don't find the taste very off-putting, nor particularly desirable...just a taste that is not e-cig in nature. Again, passes before long.

Gotta ask, what makes it better than the Billow Nano. Just a curiosity.

I'm assuming you're asking what's better about the aromamizer. For starters, the aromamizer has two different decks, the 3 post and the velocity deck. Both have way more room than the Billow's. Also with the billow you have to trim your tails(perfectly) and lay them just right into the juice well grooves, with the aromamizer you just fluff your tails and gently place them into a large well beneath the coil. And I know it doesn't sound like the billow has difficult wicking in words, but it takes me ten minutes or less to wick my Aromamizer and get vapin' but my billow typically takes around 25 minutes and has even taken longer, it's very finicky and I really dread rewicking that thing ever time I have to. Also, when you remove the base on the billow, not only is it a little difficult to grip, but there's a metal sleeve "protecting" the coils/wicks, but the problem is that it comes unscrewed and usually moves your wicks around, also when it comes completely unscrewed it gets stuck in the chimney section and you have to try to screw the base back in, with your build exposed, multiple times until you can get it to catch the threads of the sleeve, and most of the time you will find yourself having to fix the wicks that it took you forever to build. With the aromamizer, you just unscrew the bottom, no hassle. Also, a lot of people will tell you the billow leaks, if you turn it on it's side for longer than two minutes it WILL leak, the air bubble will make its way into the coil housing section and force juice out through the airflow holes, the aromamizer has separate holes that come in through the side for airflow, they're completely separate from the deck. I have not had a single drop of juice leak out of my Aromamizer. And you can just fit so many more builds, larger builds on the aromamizer deck. And the aromamizer has the ability to produce much larger clouds and offer a good bit more airflow. I have mentioned before, I have been on roller coasters with this thing, I would've left my billow in the car out of fear of a pocket full of juice. This new "RDTA" design is what RTAs should've been from the start and after using one I will never buy a traditional RTA again. Either way, whichever you choose, they're both great tanks, but from my pov, having both, I would buy the Aromamizer over a Billow.

Wow thanks. Aromamizer Nano it is. Going to get an IPV D2 to go along with it for my portable setup. Lost my vapor shark so need something else small.

I'm beginning to question if the Aromamizer is the right tank for me. As mentioned I like a cool vape and am no into huge clouds. The vast majority of what I read about it is super sub ohm builds running at massive watts. That doesn't interest me. Lowest I go is .5 and typically around 1ohm to save juice burn. Usually vape at 15 watts up to 20 or so. I definitely like a cool vape and not a warm vape. Thoughts?

Maybe a single coil RTA would be better suited for you.

I really like the Goliath v2 right now, which can do single or dual coil (single is done with a plug adapter). I don't know if I would call it a flavor chasing atty, but it has good flavor to me. It does have good vapor production with low ohm builds, but it doesn't need to.

Really leaning that way too. Ill look into that one as well. How is the Smok TVF4? Looks good; single coil, has a mini version and is available in black. Ticks a lot of boxes but is it a good tank?

I have a lot of single coil tanks. None of these use a screw to fill.

Tightish airflow:
Ataman II
Prometey
Rose v2
Phenomenon Lite
HCigar HC Plus
Eviva-t
Erlkonigin

Airflow can go from tight to medium:
Taifun GT2 or GS2
Hurricane
Nectar
Ubertoot
Urba
Aqua v2 can be single coil
Goblin Mini can be single coil
Focloud can be single coil

If you have other criteria I can help you narrow that list :). I have a lot of tanks

I have the full size TFV4 and have used the single coil rba head in it. It definitely has airflow, not much flavor for me until like 60w, but that was with the coil it came with, I haven't rebuilt it with my own coil yet.
