My wire I buy is wrapped in 38 gauge. Thats why I asked. Whats ur favorite middle wire?
Depends on the atomizer. But in my GR1 (I use it the most, have one on all my most used squonk mods) and most other single coil rdas I use triple 28g cores. My dual coil rdas i use double 26g cores.

For those of u who build ur own coils when building claptond do u like ur wire gauge high like 38 or 40 or do u like it low like 30 and 32?
Heh. I use 22 &24. Sometimes 28 in twists. I have some 32 for claptons. You will find 40 behaves more like hair than wire.

My favorite coil so far is just plain kanthal 22ga with 7 wraps on a 2.5mm mandrel. Dual coils usually give me .19 to .20 ohm with this. I use premade clapton wire too and the wrap wire is like 38ga or something. Never paid attention to the core though. 5 wraps of this on 2.5mm gives the same resistance but for the life of me, i cant say the claptons vape any better than the plain kanthal. When i dry burn to clean them off, the plain wire comes off cleaner than the claptons. Crud can get trapped in the claptons i think, even after a hot, glowing dry burn.

mine is 28 double nichrome by 38. They make a nichrome 26×2+38 but it ohms to low. I like building a higher ohm. There probably isnt much vapor difference between double 28 and double 26. Im probably going to get the same vapor dont u think?
