Indeed they have... (started something, that is)

I like that the head can be interchanged with other tubes. I think there could be some cool tube designs in the future. They might have started something with this...

High End Smoke has an entire upgrade kit for aesthetics, or you can buy just the pieces you want individually:
Phantom | eVic Tuning » evic Tuning » günstige Produkte in Ihrem Onlineshop

Of course, the joyetech eGo-T mod Tubes fit and come in lots of colors:
Genuine Joyetech NEW eGo-T MOD : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

While Google-ing I came across the answer to "The All New JoyeTech eVic Mini", an 18350 tube available in their sticky black (I love how grippy JoyeTech's black and white are) and the stock eVic silver finish which is slippery as all heck. Of course, these options all have "eGo-T" silk-screened on them, but who cares. An eVic Mini for under ten bucks (plus battery cost)!!

It does what we want it to do. Personally I never had any interest in vaping at 15 watts, even not above 10 watts. Those who vape that high or above 5 volts are a small percentage. IMO the device does as advtertised except for that one issue I don't care about. I bought it because it represents new technology. Something modern in a world of old tech devices. The upgradbility issue has been proven to work and more are coming. I am happy and I am sure most users who have one or who will buy one, will be as well.

I have tried vaping @ 9, 10 , 12, watts. I don't know how anyone can. It is just burnt. No matter the carto, genesis, boge, kanger, stardust, I just cant' understand why ppl don't like to taste their juice, 3-5 watts....anything higher and the juice is nasty.

I think dual coils need more power as they share the wattage. Each coil only gets half of the wattage the device is putting out.

The standard Joyetech Tubes do work but they are not a perfect fit. They are about one thread to high so there is a small gap. You could easily fill it with a washer which I do with my standard ego mod tubes to allow 18700 batteries to fit. The 18350 would be nice and small but the battery life on the e-Vic would be miserable short IMO.

Had mine for 3 days now and am quite happy with it. The haters are hilarious. If you want to spend $250 on a tube only mod and think you are better than us, by all means go right ahead. Im quite happy with my evic for $100 with charger and battery. It works fine and has enough power for me. It and my vamo are my main mods now.
its so funny how some people have to argue that you are wrong if you are happy with a device they dont like.

Now that the eVic has demonstrated the efficacy of the upgradeable firmware—and the upgrade to v1.1 with VW and auto atty ohms detect was a significant one that addressed a couple of initial major concerns expressed by users and reviewers alike—I'm starting to like this device more and more!

I note that there has been some mention of the amp limitation (2.25A–2.5A?), but I'm a bit confused by this ... is a device's amp limitation a function of the battery's C-rating, a software setting, or a physical property of the switch? In most other discussions of amp limitations, it is usually described as being a physical limitation of the switch ... if this is the case, then I'm assuming that the amp limitation is not an issue that can be changed by a firmware upgrade? Wouldn't this require a hardware upgrade?

Right now no one really knows if it's limited by software or hardware. Most are limited by the switch or wiring, with this one, it's anyone's guess at the moment. Maybe firmware can up it, maybe not? But, as the video showed, if it hits 5.5v with a2ohm cart on it that's 2.75A at 15.1watts. So maybe nothing is limiting it?

I'd like to thank the moderators (most noted on the previous page) for keeping this topic under control.

The Evic appears to be not the best ecig on the market for the extreme vaporer. And the reason for so much hype is because the Evic can be connected to a computer and be able to see the history of the user.

I like to use low ohm single coils and hopefully when my Evic arrives I will be able to do just that. If the the voltage/wattage can stay up to par regardless of the battery power left, than I'll be happy. I'm currently using a Sigelei Zmax and I can't use it below 1.5 ohms due to low ohm protection built into the device. But if I can go below that on an Evic, and I can use less battery power then that would be nice. The one thing I hope for is a constant vape and throat hit even when the battery is under stress.

I just got an e-vic today. Fun, fun, fun. No problems so far. Upgraded the firmware. Oddly enough, my local brick and mortar store is the only one carrying it. I have heard other vendors calling in and asking if they can buy from them to sell at their own store.

My own experience with several hours of using it.
Stock battery of (estimated) 2600mah is a damn long time.
The personal set watts is perfect when changing atomizers/cartomizers with different ohms/resistance. It retains the watts and adjusts the voltage to get to the preffered watts.
Increments of 0.1 on watts and volts.
Time and date.
% meter for battery life
Can vape as a passthrough (somewhat...when plugged in it charges, vape while plugged in - uses the battery, but charges when not in use)
Counter for puffs taken and puffs remaining (calculates voltage/watts with battery remaining)
YOU PUT YOUR NAME ON IT!!! (customized for everyone's preference)

Fun factor = off of the scale!!!

Mine will hopefully be here before the New Year. I'm glad that the version 1.1 has already been released, and addresses some (but not all) of the issues PBusardo talked about in his review. The eVice should be worth at least the co-op price I paid.

I agree with Phil that I would have rather seen an OHM meter instead of a puff counter.

It has an Ohm meter. But it's not quickly accessible. Hopefully it will be one of the first menu options to select in version 2.0 (Just after the VV/VW selection, somewhere in the main menu).

EDIT: Oh now i see. You mean in the main window. Yeah, that would be a winner :)

The voltage regulation is still a little spotty the closer you get to the amp limit, but all in all I am happy with the performance.

when you change the atty is is supposed to re-display the ohm's of the new atty. and then adjust voltage.

Yes, I should have clarified the main window. I don't care for the "puffs", I want to know at a glance what my device is doing.
