This page, Properties section:

Joyetech Joye eVic starter Kits

eVic is a milestone, a turning point, and a new development
direction of vapor intelligent electronic cigarette battery.
a. You can operate eVic through rotating direction key and
clicking enter button.
b. You can adjust the output power from 2.0W to 15w and
the output voltage from 3.0V to 5.0V by yourself.
c. eVic can be easily charged with the dedicated USB cable,
and the USB cable can connect with wall adaptor or
computer.
d. Choose an atomizer which you like to assemble with eVic,
then it is ready for use.

I don't know about free firmware but the manual for it says you can adjust the watts from 2-15w, and shows where to do it in the menu. It also says the volts will then be adjusted by the pv.
Joyetech Manual Download

1) The manual specifically states it is VW. It will even tell you the recommended wattage based on current resistance.

2) The download page for firmware is already online and accessible to all. If they were planning to charge for firmware I highly doubt they would slap the firmware unto a website where everyone can access it.

Thanks Guys!

I didn't find the manual before. As they say, "It's in the book!"! Lol

These things are so much easier when I can ask a stupid question and get a prompt answer rather than sitting and mumbling to myself! Lol

I appreciate it.

"eVic does what it wants, and you will LIKE it!!!"

After thinking some more, then finally doing the conversion from C to F on the temp shut down. Sorry to say, this is a deal breaker for me for sure! 35C is 95F, this thing wouldn't stand a chance here in KS! The last two summers we've had records of 50 plus days at 110 plus! Yes, I am outside enough that it matters! Last summer I had three instances where my Iphone shut down from the heat!
This kinda sucks!

I'm totally confused, who makes this? Same thing is on Joyetech website Joyetech New Innovation eVic(Vapor Intelligent Cigarette) Launching

Not every "Idea man", researcher, or development team is lucky enough to have their own manufacturing plant. So a deal with the devil is brokered. Ego-c, ego-t, ecab, emini, elips/elips-c, E-vic were ALL developed by OVALE, If you look at the totally wicked boxes..."powered by ovale technology".... What happens is the "manufacturer" joytech basically builds the unit with the understanding that they will release their own version/copy and "that" is the price of getting your product from paper to a persons hand. The only way to get exclusivity is to build an independent plant.

One of my Ego Twists actually says "Ovale" on it and has a slightly different logo on the bottom than my other Joyetech Twist. I was wondering what the relationship between Ovale and Joyetech was (if any). Thanks for that explanation. I kind of get it now.

One would be surprised on whom makes what, not just in PV's, but in everything you own. I used to work in consumer electronics, and three brands would go down the production line at the same time, with the same exact components. The only difference being the label applied at the end of the line. The same thing goes on with most things manufactured, even canned goods.

Dell doesn't make their own monitors, they come from Samsung relabeled. That's only one example.

Televisions are a great example ...

There are literally like 3-4 factories in China who make 95% of all television brands. Obviously my percentages aren't scientific but it gives you the general idea. Rebranding is the norm for just about everything these days.

there's two co ops in the co op planning forum..

i have to say.. the chinese owns the e-cig game.. it really is hard for western modders to compete unless it's boutique devices...

Don't think Titan is using ecf to run his coop. Price is going to be under $50 sooooooo .... yeah, absurd price. I don't think the ECF coops have set a price yet? Sounds like these wont ship until January-February though.
