Frankly I don't even get the VV vs VW debate. As long as you have one or the other you're good to go. VW has an additional luxury of being able to automatically help "tune" your sweet spot on any device you put on your pv. Some people find that option great, others are indifferent to it ... nothing worth debating over IMHO.

I switched to VW today myself. But only because the Vamo user interface is great and allows me to tweak my wattage (voltage too) super quick and saves my wattage settings. So now I can just plunk whatever I want on my Vamo and have a real decent vape ... if I feel I need a little more or little less I just click the up or down. Easy Peasy

It means that having the ability to freely and easily upgrade your device from home is a legitimate and viable feature for the ecig market. Unless someone wants to argue that upgrading your device at cost or buying a new revision is better than doing it for free ....

I think point is the poster has an issue with a device that "needs" upgrading so soon after entering the market

nice post Irage.

Even if the eVic isn't dynamic-VW I still want to set my watts rather than my voltage because I switch attys. I don't even mind an on/off cycle for detecting the new atty. I just don't like the contortion I have to go through to change the watts on the eVic. I think they should change it so that you can select Volts or Watts and have it display either on the main vape screen and be adjustable with the jog wheel. Right now I have to go into the watts setting screen and move through/set each digit. What a pain!

this may well be in the next upgrade. and hopefully a home function to exit menu no matter where you are.

Just watched the latest Haze Hour with Dave Dorn on VapourTrailsTV (YT), and he give it a solid double-thumbs-down ... he went through all the menu diving one must go through to set the wattage, and what a PITA! On the other hand, he showed the stainless steel kit for the eVic, and it really looks terrific with a stainless steel tube and SS flat-top head ... if only it worked as simply as the Vamo, and gave true and accurate variable wattage control like the Zmax in RMS mode, it would be a runaway winner in stainless steel. I never thought I'd be disappointed in Joyetech (love their atomizers and eGo Twists), but the eVic needs to go back in the oven and finish baking ...

This should be changing next week with a firmware update. I was told that one of the changes is, "the ability to adjust VV or VW directly from the main interface."

And that is the whole point, and why this device is game changing, the ability to change the way the device operates just by the user linking their PV up to the computer and following a few simple steps.

A year from now this will all seem old hat, because the rest that follow will far surpass what the Evic can do but we have to start somewhere.

I have been in the IT Industry for over 30 years now, and have seen many changes in that time, I guess you could say I was in at the start, and it makes me chuckle now to think of the computers I used to use back then, and I'm privileged to be in at the start of the vaping industry things are moving so fast, it's hard to keep up just like it has been in the computing industry.

Look I'm not kidding myself that the Evic will give me a better vape, and I don't think anyone that has ordered one thinks that either, but they can see what a leap forward for users being able to have a device that they don't have to fork out more money to get the next update.

Here is a prime example, I bought the Itaste MVP about six weeks ago now, and despite its few shortcomings such as no ohm checker it is a great device, it dose what I want, but it would still be nice to have a ohm checker, but the only way I can get that is, when the next version of the MVP comes out, fork out more money just to get the enhancements, and lets be honest the ohm checker should have been there in the first place.

So if you don't want the Evic and happy with what you got fine, I like new technology and so do lots of others, I don't need the Evic but I want one, that's why I have more than one Evic on it's way to me now.

And I'm sure the Evic won't be the last PV I buy, very sure 2013 will have lots of shiny toys to tempt me, roll on 2013 :)

Thanks

Just saw a review on the Evic and the joy 18650 colored tubes do interchange with the evic if anyone wants to dress theirs up a little bit.
They
do work but they do not have the protective washer at the top and they are a not a perfect fit as they do not thead onto the head completely leaving a small, but almost un-noticable gap. I would prefer to wait for Joye to release official colored replacements. They won't be expensive and the fit will be better.

That's actually being addressed in the first firmware update. I totally agree that it's a pain as it is.

Anyone using this with a Kanger T3? It was smooth sailing with my carto/tanks, but the T3 was problematic for me since these base of the clearomizer is covered by the mod. One time I tried to unscrew the T3 from the eVic, but the base of the clearo stayed on the mod and I had a lovely e-liquid spill on my shirt.

Yeah, i know from experience myself :)

That's why i'm so happy with the fact that you can unscrew the top cap. That reveals the T3's base. So in case this would happen again, don't turn too much on the T3. turn it back on, unscrew the top cap of the eVic and you can unscrew the T3.

You're talking about a new firmware for the eVic. How do you know that they are addressing this menu issue? Is this your guess, or do you know someone at Joyetech and get privileged information?

You mean you started in the punch card days?

Yes, it does have to start somewhere, and there will be similar, but more enhanced devices made by other vendors. You also made one of the few logical posts I have seen here. You didn't bash it, and that's understandable, since you don't own one yet.

How can some people give a negative review without having one in their hands? Maybe I should troll other device threads and say negatives to things I don't own.

And that is the whole point, and why this device is game changing, the ability to change the way the device operates just by the user linking their PV up to the computer and following a few simple steps.

With ego-c cones that might be a problem as well except that the ego-c cone is metal on metal threads so you can actually tighten it so that doewsn't happen, But Kangers are metal on plastic so yeah you won't be able to tikghten the plastic to the metal threads as well as the base of the kanger screws on to the evic thread.
