I've been vaping for 3 weeks now still on cigs at certain times of the day at work as vaping is not allowed in my country. So before work, lunch n after work I go for analogues. The rest of the time I'm vaping. Recently I've been chain vaping and think I have developed a cough. Wondering if it is from the cigs which is 3 a day or the over vaping. Any views would help.

I've seen a lot of non-vapers cough immediately after puffing on a vape. They hold the drip tip in their mouth like a cigarette i.e. loosely with some space around the end. Try making an air-tight seal with your lips around the tip of your e-cig and drawing lightly. There's no need to power lung an e-cig. The "correct" way to vape is slightly different than the way most smoke an analog. I've seen lots of people's coughs cease after about a week and gaining better technique.

When I started vaping I had been smoking about 2+1/2 packs per day for over 30 years. In the early stages of my vaping the vapor would make me cough at times when I took a hit. As my lungs cleared out over the following few weeks, the vapor did not have this effect anymore. This was on an Ego type battery with a T3 clearo. Nowadays I can take big hits from a dripper( much thicker vapor) and no more cough. Also, my persistent smokers cough has been gone for a long time now. I used to cough all day, and all night long. Do the best you can, and hang in there. It will get better with time.

I'm at a loss...so many people said they coughed up junk...I didn't

i didn't either, however I think smoking technique differs as much as vaping technique. I only inhaled to my throat when I smoked. That area tends to heal quietly. My husband however lung inhales. So he gets the cough at times, he's still smoking.

Sonic: you're probably getting that from your lungs healing up due to the reduction in smoking. They want to get rid of all the extra gunk, and the only way to do that is make you cough it out. It stinks that you can't vape in the open. I'd be trying to find a hiding place :D

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
Look at the PG/VG ratio of your liquid.

I started out on 70 PG / 30 VG and it gave me a slight cough.

I use 50/50 now and cough went away.

Some people are sensitive to to PG.
For me it's the VG that leaves me phlegmy and lightly coughing.

I figure folks need to experiment one way or the other to see if they're sensitive either way and adjust as needed.
