Hi Everyone,

I am not sure if this is the right place to post my question as I am new here. Please feel free to move it if necessary.
A little bit of myself:
I am a long time, 25+ year a pack a day, smoker. I have tried many times to stop smoking; however without any success. I have tried the e-cig for the first time back in 2008 and did not like the experience - too much hustle and not very reliable.
I had recently rediscovered the vaping and bought my first vaping device at the beginning of the August. I love it from the start and almost instantly left the analogs behind.
I am at my 40 days of no analog smoke.
Here is my problem. Soon after my last analog cigarette I start having a terrible cough. Knowing that this might be a normal cleaning process I was not overly concerned; however after a week of not being able to have a quality good night sleep I went to a doctor only to be told that everything is ok and my throat seems to be irritated from the harsh air pollution (wild fires) we had just when I start coughing.
In another week the cough disappear just like my doctor assure me. Fast forward and a few days back the cough returns. I have a feeling that something is scratching my throat and when I cough I cannot stop for a minute or two.
I never cough while I am vaping. My juice is 12 mg strength and 70/30 PG/VG.
Did someone experienced something similar and what I should do?

To summarize:
From 60 days vaping the first 2 weeks I had an occasional analog smoke (one in a couple of days). I estimate the number of analog smoked lower than 10.
Around day 25 I start coughing and had the cough for two weeks (i.e till day 40).
I had almost 20 days cough free and 2 days back the cough reaper.

Please help.

you could have a PG sensitivity. try going with 70%+ VG ejuice and see if it improves. personally i have issues with 70% PG juice like you are using.
Very unlikely, using very high VG eliquid could cause other problems.

OP,

Much more likely this is just your lungs clearing years of buildup.

Keep some water on hand to help keep the mucous flow lubricated.

You may want to try some 50/50 unflavored for a while and see if that takes care of the cough. It could be a lot of different things causing your problem. It could be that you are sensitive to one of the flavorings or maybe to much pg thus my suggestion of 50/50 unflavored. If you do deep lung inhales you may want to try mouth only. The nicotine is absorbed through the mouth so there is no need to pull it deep into your lungs.

My first suggestion would have been to see your doctor but I see that you have already taken care of that.
