Hey Big Hitter you know what else is a good one, the 5v Batt with a v2 Gold dripping carto from Iken, this happens to be a really nice set up on my Grand, it also allows me to leave the house with about 8+ ml's of liquid in my Grand. These 5v Batts also work great with an Iken HV Atty on top of my Grand too !!!

Thanks, they are on my list .... as soon as he opens back up on the 10th I have a bunch of shopping to do.

I believe the 510's are much more prone to this than the 306's. That is one of the reasons that I love the 306's on my Mini. I rarely have overflow, but when it happens, it is always with a 510 atty. I'm sure there is some technical reason for this, but I don't know it.

I think it is because the 510 atomizers have a wider and more open bridge than the tighter 306 atomizers.

Thank you! I knew there had to be a reason. I just toss my Mini into my purse with the 306, and have never had a problem, even though I use 80% pg juice. I use the 510's on my Woodvil, but that is my desk model, so I don't worry about overflow.

Does that keep the juice in the atty from draining back into the overflow cup?
Yep it does for me. I feel it helps send more juice back down to the bottle instead of the catch cup. YMMV

I'm scared that if I unscrew it any it will come loose! I only finger 'tighten' it until it stops moving. I'll give it a shot though. Thanks :)
I mean like a tiny bit, just so it's not sealed airtight. Try 1/8 or 1/4 turn.

...

I love my Grand and swear by it, but I've noticed with the Ikenvap LR 510 atties my overflow well has a tendency to well, overflow.

...

I still haven't found my atty of choice and I am thinking of going with those AW IMR batteries, but with so many choices, I am getting overwhelmed >.<

I'll post only because i see the experts have already provided good advice for you. I have the same experience with the IKV 510s, specifically, they seem to allow the juice to feed more generously. And, because its the same brand and ratio of 60/40 (PG/VG) I've always used in the Reo I tend to believe its some kind of atty magic. When I vape with these I get more drops of juice in my mouth than usual so I just don't use them. I rely on the IKV 306 for really good vapes or an IKV 801 LR (with an AvidVaper Stealth Adapter) but atty choice is such a personal thing I'm not endorsing either. You will eventually find your go-to atty, I'm sure.

Lately I've used the red AW IMR 18650 3.7v 1600mAh batteries from SuperTManufacturing.com exclusively in my Reo Grand and enjoy every single vape. There really is a difference between these and the higher mAh 'regular' batteries. I'm actually sorry I waited so long but batteries confuse me and it didn't seem logical that a battery with the same stated voltage as the one I was using could be very different. Oh, but it is. There's more oomph and warm vapor and it lasts until the batteries die. So far I haven't had one die even though they're below 2000mAh.

Hope this is more helpful than confusing and good luck, nerd.

As mentioned previously a cartomizer is the only way to keep the cup completely dry in my experience.

I have a REO mini that has cartos on it all the time .... thats the only one I ever throw in my pocket.

Every REO I have with attys on I keep standing up at all times.

Going to try a carto with the Grand - thanks! And, that 5v battery...is it protected? I know its a 'four cell'...is that right?

I ordered two high drains yesterday after reading literally hundreds of posts about batterie, voltage, and the mess.

I think I am going to get some cartos for traveling and use the atties at home.

Thank you everyone for the responses!

Hey nerd. If you discover you don't like cartos try a 901 atty with a drip shield from Empire mods. You'll need an adapter (510 to 901). The drip shield contains any overflow from a flooded atty so the drip well is dry at all times. If you get 1.5 LR atty it still hits pretty nice. Good Luck

So how does the shield work? It looks massive!

I just threw it on over my LR carto, it serves no purpose.. I only did it for the thread... lol sry

but i do have some 510/901 adaptors ..If i wanted to try new things. I just grabbed this drip shield while they were in stock to have and maybe experiment in the future. I'm inlove with using LR cartomizers with my Reo Mini and that's all i really use on it.

edit: i bought the drip shield plus Bridged (510-901-901-510) adapter. "The air vents in the adapter allow liquids to be re-routed from 510/306 atomizers directly into the Drip Shield"...<--straight from empiremods
