Hello, someone put a kangertech toptank e cigar on my backpack a few weeks ago, and until now i decided to try it because why not. I swapped the coil that it already had (wich had no cotton at all for some reason) and got a 60% VG oil for the new coil, wich was a .5 clapton coil i got on the mail today. I noticed at first popping sounds and burned taste after 2-3 seconds of pressing the battery button (its the standard battery that comes with the toptank nano), but after trying solutions for dry burns, i actually noticed that the base of the atomizer gets really hot. So i can vape for around one or two seconds before it actually starts to overheat the oil and cause the burning taste and coughing. Has anyone else experienced this? I think it might be the coil, even if the website says its compatible, its a bit bigger than the one it had. Because the old one has no cotton im afraid of trying to use it to check if it works.

Hi and welcome!
Best of luck quitting smoking.

IMO, if a stranger gave me something old and used, I'd not be so inclined to stick it in my mouth.

What nicotine level /flavour and PG/VG ratio are you using?

Cheers
I
Thats pretty.much why i actually checked everything and changed the coil actually. Its emg and 60/40

I found the specs for your coils here:
Authentic Kanger™ SSOCC Clapton Coils / Atomizer Heads

It says "Recommended Wattage: 18W - 70W"
The wattage produced by your device is 3.7V*3.7V/0.5Ω =
I think the OP has a straightforward Subvod.
They are optimized for the 0.5ohm coils.
They get warm. The Claptons might well get warmer still.
The Kanger SOCCs are fine with 60% vg.
ah! I somehow read evod when it clearly stated SUBvod.
