So here it is..that same post over again...please be patient and maybe we can start a dialog?

I first learned about e-cigs several years ago seeing them at stands in the mall. After seeing several friends successfully transfer from "analog" cigarettes to electronics I wanted to try. After researching many starter kits online (Blu, greensmoke, etc.) I decided on Blu. There are lots comments saying how terrible the Blu is..so I tried the disposable first..wow, great TH, lots of vapor, etc. Unfortunately the amount of nicotine had me dreaming about the disposable...When my kit arrived I was disappointed to find it was nowhere near as good, in short the carts have no vapor, they over heat and taste like "burning"...Needless to say I would like to return the kit for the 30 day money back guarantee...I have a friend with an "ego" unit which is awesome but I would prefer a unit similar to the 510 "analog type"s. This forum mentions both the 510 and the Kr-808...besides that the amount of info offered through this forum and kit sites is completely overwhelming for me. Can I order other cartomizers that will be interchangeable with the blu battery?

I am looking for a 510 or Kr-808 model which can take pre packaged cartridges (that I don't have to fill). The cartridges have to be VG as I am concerned the PG liquid may effect my depression (as I have read about)..I would love to hear anyones experience, comments and suggestions. Please post links to stores if you know of any.

If you want a KR808, you want the D-1 model, as the 2 model doesn't have anything that works with it. The 510 is a good model. Check Liberty-Flights for the Joye 510, and click the discount button at the top.

The 'mouse will be along shortly and give you the lowdown on'em.

Good call. I know nothing about what's compatable with the Blu.

Never heard anything about PG and depression. VG is thick and doesn't work that well with cartomizers unless ir is thinned a lot. VG also dulls flavor and dulls nicotine hit. However V4L (an 808) does offer a small selection of VG cartos and juices (which I imagine have been thinned with water enough to soak into the cartos).

Most people use PG/VG blends. In cartomizers I like 80PG/20VG - PG lets through the most flavor and hit, and VG smooths out irritation and adds some nicer vapor. SmokelessImage (another style of 808) uses 80PG/20VG.

Note - cigarettes do contain an MAOI anti-depressant effect and someone may have mistaken a stop-smoking effect and thought PG was doing it.

Or is the PG depressant stuff something Blu is spreading around to make their use of VG seem desirable? Blu cartos are VG. But the disposable may not be VG.

Blu is 510 threaded but 510 is normally sold as a 3-piece and has almost no decent prefilled cartomizers (mainly some filled with Chinese PG juice). Blu can use standard resistance 510 cartomizers (2.5 to 3 ohm). However Blu is not a 510 - Blu has 1/2 the charge of a 510 and will fry a real 510 with its charger and vice versa because Blu is reverse electrical polarity.

My mom was the same way. Wanted a mini with prefilled cartos when she started. It got her into vaping and it worked for her. Once she got into the swing of things and realized how many cartos she went through she started getting the empties and filling them herself (or I started filling them for her). If you feel you need that step to get started, try it.

I'm new to the forum and to e-cig community. My friend got me into them but I still smoke cigarettes. How can I become cigarette free? I'm down for any knowledge given.

First thing to understand:

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

Start with a good beginner model with better batteries so you can avoid the frustration level of constantly changing batteries (mini battery models) and wondering why the sensation of smoking diminishes so quickly.

I would suggest you look at the E-Power 510 or the Kgo. You will be able to get around 5 - 6 hours of vaping time on a charge unlike the models that look like the real thing. Stick with manual batteries (small button) for warmer vapor, better control and safer. Get eliquid in the 24mg nicotine strength range as well as a lower level in case you need to cut it. Most need around 24mg strength to make the transition. Get some blank cartomizers which tend to be easier to use. Much better than using carts. Here are several reputable suppliers:

Since your stuck on 2 models, and that's what you can't decide on, go with the kr's. The prefilled cartomizers are easier to find. However, you'll be back, wanting a bigger battery because those little ecig batteries are the pits. You'll be constantly recharging them which becomes a PITA.

As for all VG not wicking, as doormouse stated, that's not true. I use virginvapor's 100% VG, UNDILUTED, without any wicking issues at all.

First off thanks so much for the great response! V4L seems like a good start, they have only 4 flavors but apparently you can fill your own. If I am completely unsatisfied by the throat hit I could try an 80/20 blend. In regards to being more flexible, I am flexible and would be willing to listen to suggestions. I have heard a 510 tank system would be good. If I had to make a sacrifice it would be to leave the smaller unit behind and keep the VG juice.

In regards to the depression issue; after revisiting several of the articles I found through google on the subject I see there may not be substance behind the argument. In my situation a bad depression swing is to be avoided..period..so I am hesistant..like I said I might be willing to try a mix.

I am very happy with my Pig Cig from LeCig.com - I paid close to $80 for the kit and a set of 5 extra Mega Carts. All of the things I have read about eGo's leaking etc.., I have not experienced with the Pig Cig. And, the batteries work well and charge fast. Here is a review of the Pig Cig from "Smokey" - an interesting character out of NYC.
