I have been vaping since 1/2/14. Not one slip back into analog. I quit using the new Blu starter pack. I have two of them, and I alternate two different flavors at a time. So far, so good, although I would like to move forward with vaping, I cannot for the life of me determine what the next step is. There seem to be so many choices, and so much information, I feel overwhelmed. I like the Blu, and I am getting about 4 days out of each cartridge, but I can definitely tell the burning taste that has been described here. So, is there a primer somewhere for steps to upgrade?

primer really wont help with a standard 510 cartomizer. Are you refilling the cartomizers with liquid? if so you just need to refill very slowly and allow the cartomizer to absorb the liquid, while making sure you don't drip any down the center tube. once the liquid stops absorbing and starts to pool at the top you are refilled. Also once you burn the carto it will usually always taste burnt unless your putting a very strong flavor into.

As far as upgrading from a blu, for many the next step would be a twist or spinner style ego battery. as far as a topper the very popular ones are the protanks(1,2,3) they also come in mini versions, evods, and cartomizer tanks. You can youtube reviews on them to see what they look like and how they function.

hope this helps you on your journey

It's all a matter of taste. I'd suggest looking at clearomizers next so far as toppers. The ProTank 2, 3, and BCD clearos like the Davide-S are all great next steps. Simple to use, not very tweaky, and a good vape. You don't say what you're looking for in a device, that would help. Long battery life? Simplicity? Small size? Lots of power?

Maybe go with an ego style setup. I too stated Blu but the carto's seemed to go to quickly. I have an ego-t battery with a evod tank. It's working well for me but I do see an upgrade soon. Though I'm doing just fine with what I have.

most vapers dont need to upgrade beyond our 2nd or 3rd set up. However they keep making shiny stuff and we get ..... oh look its a squirrel symptoms.

If you like the form factor of blu, eGo pen style will help with the transition. Either Joyetech eGo or eVod starter kit should be a good choice. Having said that, I just want to highlight the "visit your local shop" comment. When you are trying to quit, finding the right juice should be first priority over the devices. Find local shops and try out as many flavors as possible. You should certainly get the AVP online for cheaper price but juice tasting is much faster by visiting local shops. No matter how good the devices are, if you end up vaping crappy juice, you could easily fall back to analog.

These are all important things to consider. Also, if you're happy with the Blu e-juice, you may find something you like from Johnson Creek Smoke juice. However, it is unlikely to be the EXACT same flavor because as they state in their FAQ:
Blu e-cigarettes and Johnson Creek Smoke Juice

Q: I love my blu e-cigarette, can I purchase the liquid directly from your company?
A: While blu e-cigarettes do contain our Smoke Juice the Smoke Juice we make and sell to blu is exclusively produced for blu. We have many fantastic flavors of which some of may be similar to blu's flavors. With that said, If you would like the exact same flavor of blu's e-cigarette cartomizers you will need to purchase their pre-filled cartomizers directly from blu.

Unfortunately, there is some trial & error involved here. If you have a local shop and they have tasters, I'd start there to see what other flavors are satisfying to you. Something that is keeping me away from analogs is moving further and further away from anything that reminds me of a cigarette. I am currently vaping freckled lemonade from Mt. Baker Vapor. This isn't to say that I wouldn't enjoy a tobacco e-juice now and again but, a GOOD one is hard to find. Finding one that reminds one of an analog is near impossible.

Don't be overwhelmed. Start with a decent starter kit, get the hang of that...find a few juices you like, read a bit, enjoy the vaping your doing and plan ahead in baby steps. It will all come together, no worries. You will get plenty of good info here to make your next move. Don't worry about jumping into the BMW right away, learn to drive and enjoy your Subaru and upgrade when you know what features you want. Easy peasy.

I say a good start is the Ego C Twist and a Protank 2 mini and some EVOD tanks. Work great, enjoyable. A baby step from there is to learn how to replace the silica wick to a cotton wick... use the same stock coil in your atomizer. Youtube it. Very quick and easy.. and a great improvement.

In a few weeks you will know where you want to go with this. Just keep reading here and it will click.

I agree 100% with ZeroOhms, finding the right juice is big. Finding a model that's right for you may be difficult and perhaps your in the situation that I was , no real vapor shops around to go browsing. I went to one smoke shop and it was not pleasant . The person sold me a cloud 2.0 and said it was designed for juice. It also cost me 75 bones . After struggling with it , I looked it up online for some pointers and found a ton of bad reviews and also found it isn't really made for juice. Plus it was selling for 45 bucks online. That was a lesson learned. I spent about a week looking at products and watching reviews , comparing the ups and downs of each model and decided on function and battery life as apposed to everything else. I ended up getting the Innokin MVP V2 and at a stellar price . I couldn't be more happy with it at the moment. So keep up the research and I am sure you will find your " nest step" soon enough. Keep on vaping

I would also add that, your tastebud will change over time. Also don't be shy about trying out something totally different. I initially didn't like the idea of fruit flavor and stuck with coffee flavor. One day, I tried Strawberry flavor and it blew me away. Experiences like this will cement your effort of staying off the analog and really enjoy vaping. It is like having your favorite deserts all day long without the calories. :)
