Hey guys, first of all id like to thank everyone for supporting each other as an active community. Its often under-appreciated and shouldn't be, cause the introduction of vaping saved many lives and is pure innovation (in my eyes)

My question is, I've been recently getting these rash like itchy bed-bug looking things around my ankles and lower leg, and a recent one popped up on my lower back. They are somewhat in clusters of three's, but some are coming in by singles so it's pretty confusing.

My conclusion is it could be one of three things:

1. Side effect rashes brought on by smoking cessation (but i am an avid mary joowana user, please dont look down on me :D)
2. Bed bug or just coincidental mosquito bites, and they may have turned red and bumpy because i scratched them so much
3. P.G. allergy reactions

Some facts to consider:

-I've been vaping everyday for about a month or two now. The first month i was smoking cigarettes as well as vaping, but vaping helped me cut back alot on the damn death sticks.

-I quit cigarettes about a week and a half or about two weeks ago

-Vaping never has given me irritations.Although, I remember the first day i started to vape I think I might have caught a cold, because my nose was extremely runny and my voice changed to that of my sick voice. I had an irritated throat for a while, but it could have been the juice i was using (cinammon something)

-To my knowledge, I recall never having any allergies growing up.

-My cigarette quitting symptoms are kicking in now. My cold is gone yet im coughing and hacking up phlegm, which is commonly associated with quitting cigs. I haven't had any fatigue or headaches or anything along those lines yet, quite the opposite as well cause im working a nonstop kitchen 6 hour job. I also notice i get less tired.
Sorry for the long writing, I know it's a pain to read lol
Thank you all once again

(P.S., I know alot of the replies I'm going to get is going to be along the lines of "Just wait and see", but im more so looking for similar incidents)

I am sure someone who has had a similar reaction will post something to help you. That is what is so wonderful about ecf. I have never had any issues like this but if I did.......the first thing I would do is try a 100% vg juice and see if it goes away. Welcome to ecf and good luck to you. I am sure someone will help you. :)

I'm with caniscream, it was my first thought, chiggers. I hate those lil' .......s. They itch like hell. Sounds like you're pretty allergy free and that's a good thing. Have you been out in tall grass here lately? That's where those lil' bugs like to lay low. If it's fleas, and now is a time they will be active since it's getting warm, they'll show up around the ankles and maybe the lower back if they just happen across it (not as likely though).

About a month into vaping I developed a rather nasty "breakout" across my whole back. Went to the Dr. and got 2 answers. First one was a reaction to meds ( the ones you have to stay out of the sun with) and then I told him I had quit smoking and started vaping. He then told me that the toxins supplied from smoking were being forced out thru the pores ( I do alot of outside work in the heat) of my skin. So... my condition was a 2 fold issue. I finished off the meds and still had issues with the "rashy" skin for about 2 more weeks. I did some research into this matter and one of the symptoms of quitting the ciggies is a chance of skin problems...

Quit smoking acne is usually confined to the places you usually expect it. For most people it's facial acne. A few people get breakouts on their scalp or upper back. But ankles? Haven't run across that before. You may want to give a read through this one: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/3305-list-symptoms-when-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html

So scalp itching could be a side effect from quitting smokinh? I'm experiencing some mild scalp itching. I'm on day 8 of having quit. I wondered what was going on! Also when I get nervous I do break out in bumps but I've done that way before vaping. Note for op: bites around the ankles are usually a tell tale sign of flea bites. I know this from lots of experience. I have several animals. When they get fleas I'll get those bites on my ankles until I flea dip my animals hope this helpsn

years ago I kenneled my dog for a weekend. When we got her home we discovered she had picked up fleas. The way we discovered it was at my Dr office, I like you developed bite looking things on my ankles and a couple on my back and between my thighs and belly button... My Dr. looked me over real close and actually found one on me. As he told us they go from the dog to the floor and eventually up on to the furniture you and so on. I ask if I could just share a package of advantix with my dog or what. He suggested we have the house sprayed and while out we get the dog dipped, spray the car while the dog was at the groomers. He also gave me an RX, but I don't remember what it was. If you've been around dogs, have dogs, or had somebody with dogs at your house that could have started it. Took us two house sprayings and three dips for the dog to completely get rid of them. I also sprayed my yard every weekend for the next two months.

I had a weird type of rash a while back, looked like poison ivy but in small patches in the middle of winter. I freaked out though I cAught some bed bugs or chiggers because I go to different peoples houses for work.. Never determined the cause and then passed after a week or so.. The only thing I thought it could be related to with vaping was the new nic that's out now.. I had just started using it.. Have no idea what it was though. Maybe try a different brand of juice.

Our relatively hairless bodies don't make great hiding places for fleas, and it's much harder for them to hang on to our bare skin.

Still, people living with pets eventually find themselves faced with a flea infestation. As they multiply in number, all those bloodthirsty fleas are competing for your pet, and may begin biting you instead. Flea bites typically occur on the ankles or lower legs. And yes, flea bites do itch, especially if you're allergic to them.

One word of caution, though. While fleas rarely take up residence on human skin, they can and will live happily in a human home with no pets present. If fleas find their way into your house and don't find a dog, cat, or bunny on which to feed, they will use you as the next best thing.
First I'd check for fleas since you said friends visit with their pets.
